    Pros

Family company-style activities and benefits. Working here was a positive experience. Learning from others and team organization were the pros. Good people.

    Cons

Economic downturn created seemingly constant change within the company. Changes always seemed around the corner as far as personnel swaps. Down economy equals less machines.

  2. Helpful (2)

At first this place was a welcoming employer. No micro management with the types of projects I handled.

    Pros

Stable. It is hard to get fired. Gregory Poole has its hand in the community and presents a very clean, down to earth, good old american values kind of company but that is only on the outside.

    Cons

A very sexist, chauvanistic environment. Visual sexual harassment, being bullied if you speak up. Those in higher positions no being held accountable and are know for carousing around with each other and employees and this includes sexual contact. A very racist and crude environment as well.
The bottom line matters (not even the customers) period.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees who have had the guts to come to HR and management to voice their concerns. Listen to those who left because they simply could not stomach the nonsense that goes on within this company. Nepotism is a huge part of this problem as well. Many married couples work at the same branch, some in the same department. Affairs are rampant and well known as well as drinking on the job, right in the office, including a top manager. Gregory Poole Power Systems in particular, need to address these problems because right now, they are just ignoring the problems based on technicalities. I f you are a female or your background is something other than caucasian, you had been have a tough skin, major confidence and a no bs attitude.

    Pros

The company is very stable and strong. It is a good place to work with a nice work atmosphere and friendly people. Management sees the big picture and allows you to work withing their parameters without undue pressure to perform.

    Cons

Third generation family ownership has kept salaries a bit low and limited top end earnings. Upward mobility is somewhat limited as it is a relatively flat organizational structure.

    Advice to Management

Do not change salesforce compensation plans every year making it difficult to repeat previous earnings. Motivate employees with incentives.
