Be The First To
100% of the CEO
I worked at Gridiron Systems full-time
Pros – Founders and Engineering leadership is top-notch. Very skilled development team. Product is transformational and revolutionary. Customers love the concept of using flash as a way to accelerate existing storage arrays -- unique approach to application performance improvement.
Cons – VC, VC, VC. VC influence was mostly negative leading to eventual sale. Poor board decisions on CEOs and crony exec hires led to subpar results.
Advice to Senior Management – Beware of overly influential VCs next time.
Recommendations are based on acquiring company, Violin Memory, which appears quite strong.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I have been working at Gridiron Systems
Pros – Chance to tackle some very tough storage issues. Smart engineering team.
Cons – Lack of communication from senior management.
Senior management seems clueless about closing deals.
Advice to Senior Management – Communicate! Assume employees have at-least average intelligence so no B.S!
Get sales people who are hungry and can close.

Pros – Some really good people to work with. Lots to learn from within the company, however you will need a self motivator to do it.
Cons – Too many egos within the company that can't look past their pride. Product's core works however it does not implement well in real life. There is a very specific environment that the product fits in and market is not large enough. They keep lying to themselves it's a big market. Every time the product does not test well in the environment the company blames the customer's environment some how.
CEO hires useless people from his mafia, management is top heavy for certain.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to the customer. There is a correlation if we end every POC saying the workload is not correct.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
