Stable job and business that is flexible with your schedule

    General Manager (Former Employee)

ProsMany opportunities to transfer or advance. Decent starting salary compared to similar positions in other companies. Great locations. Good training program.

ConsNo creative energy at upper management to help drive sales when begin to decline.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement does not care as much as it could about it's employees. Culture has diminished throughout the years, really making work more of a scare factor than an enjoyable environment.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

The working environment would have been great if management didn't work out of fear and the desperation to meet quotas.

Cocktail Server (Former Employee) Los Angeles, CA

ProsIt was flexible. Easy to switch shifts with other staff if necessary.

ConsThere seemed to have been a disconnect between staff and higher management. The desire for higher sales quotas increasingly was a problem for such a customer oriented business. There was less and less regard and care for staff.

Advice to Senior ManagementRelax. Working at Daily Grill could be enjoyable. It once was. Desperation adds pressure to everyone on staff.

the training staff from california was weak

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

Prossome of the staff are amazing. ALl male bartenders make you feel like they care about their job and some of the servers are very experienced.

ConsClientele for the most part are rude and forget getting a good tip from foreigners. They lie about the benefits and the hours they have to reduce.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your employees with respect and stop lying about the hours you are reducing. Add the gratuity. save your staff. I would still work their if you got your act together.

Unprofessional, stressful, uncredited and over unrewarding place to work.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Austin, TX

ProsBecause of how horribly it's run, you get away with anything, making it easy and fun to work there.

ConsStress is put on employees, harassment - sexual and otherwise is out of control, not financially rewarding

Advice to Senior ManagementFind professional managers who know what they are doing. You need some secret service servers/hosts etc. to find out how they REALLY act when the big corporate men aren't around.

Stable job and business that is flexible with your schedule

    Server (Former Employee) Irvine, CA

ProsCoworkers created an amazing environment to work with. The flow worked very well with the front of the house floor plan. The money is also very lucrative if you work in the night.

ConsManagement doesn't care as much as it could about it's employees. The owning company is very corporate, which creates a lot of problems as they really stifle and creativity, and really make working more of a scare factor than an enjoyable environment.

Advice to Senior ManagementAt least in my location, have a more structured training system, as the newer employees really were thrown under a bus on their first shifts. Make your employee nepotism less obvious...

thru the eyes of an non-management employee

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) San Francisco, CA

ProsIf you are a hardworking person it's the perfect place to work, managers and supervisors are most of the time clear and consistent ,the organization of the whole work system is well done so there is no confusion in hierarchy and responsibilities of parts.
I would say that the process of interaction with costumers and managers it's pleasant and easy.

Consthe impossibility to take vacation during the Christmas holydays

Advice to Senior ManagementI believe that the management is doing a great job hiring the right people and allowing them to transfer to different locations with better promoting opportunities, they probably should start firing people in a more productive way too, incompetency is an anchor for the places where team work is important, and Daily Grill is one of these places.

Horrible clientele, management doesn't back you up

Server (Former Employee) Santa Monica, CA

ProsFlexible schedule, not open on Sundays or Saturday before 5pm, lunch shifts are 3-4 hours.

ConsWorst clientele- customers are rude and overly picky about everything, but can get away with anything. Management will always throw you under the bus when it comes to the customer and never show support no matter the situation.

Advice to Senior ManagementShow more respect and support towards your employees.

    same thing every day

    Restaraunt Manager (Current Employee)

ProsMany opportunities to transfer or advance. Ok starting salary compared to similar positions in other companies. Great locations. Good training program.

ConsNo creative energy. Every day you do the same thing. No vacation time until after a year of empoyement then only 5 days if you request a long time in advance.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay attention to the moral of your team. Area directors should get feedback from hourly employees regarding managers and issues.
