Pros – Family oriented. Current leadership is working hard to improve employee engagement and I think they are on the right track, but it is a slow process. Stable employment.
Cons – Clerical work constantly pushed up to exempt staff, micro management of in office staff, limited opportunity for advancement, old boys network and nepotism predominate, pay less than market.

Pros – I can't think of any.
Cons – Very poor leadership in their IT department. Very hierarchical - don't question decisions or act like you have a brain and you will do fine here.
Advice to Senior Management – You hire people because of their skills - allow them to use them!

Pros – Excellent managers and above! Great freedom in doing job! Internal programs for advancement.
Guidelines to follow with use of alternate parts, etc, however, no iron fists to save 5 or 10 cents.
Drive to treat customers how they want to be treated. Not a cookie cutter, one fits all approach.
Customers are to a high percentage Farmers, contractor, business owners and easy to work with. Each day offers great variety! Few meetings. Outside co workers are nice group.
It is really very easy to work independently to get job done. They do not micromanage workday!

Cons – You will improve typing skills, lots of reporting and repetition.

Company logo wear is not provided - ever, and very expensive to purchase.
To advance with company you must work in Grinnell.
Year end bonus tied directly to 3 measures, no bonus for several years.
Advice to Senior Management – Reduce duplication in reporting
GIVE your field reps some logo polos to wear in the field, expense it out of the inside ice cream budget.
You have a lot of talent and experience in the field, figure out how to use it!
If you can not provide a year end bonus- give an additional personal day!

Pros – family like environment, solid job stability, friendly people, average pay.
Cons – limited opportunity for growth, mediocre professional growth support, with little results for the effort. Realistically however, this is more likely because there are not a lot of growth opportunities with this company.
