    Pros

The company is incredibly liberal when it comes to a workplace environment, allowing each associate to represent themselves in a genuine manner.

    Cons

The business of the overall company has been in a steady decline over the course of the past few years. The company has responded by closing many locations with lower volume sales as well as high rent locations. Ultimately, the brand is carried by a few outlet and high volume stores as opposed to the premium fashion focus that ultimately made Guess a sartorial staple.

    Advice to Management

Overall, the management fails to really stand true to the core values implemented in the company focus. There is an appalling lack of team fidelity or true motivation coming from the upper levels, especially with the current retail climate.

    I worked at Guess?

    Pros

Great 25% Discount. Sometimes you would get 40% discount if they were having a big sale.

    Cons

Limited hours to work Sometimes you would be scheduled to work 5 hours in a week.

    Advice to Management

Strive to give workers at least 10 hours a week so that they can have a decent check. 5-7 hours a week is a waste of time and a slap in the face.

    Pros

Employee discount Great benefits package Lots of paid vacation Great bonus and incentive program

    Cons

Little room for advancement Pay lower than average Heavy workload, no hours given to effectively complete to expectation

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people, I've seen a lot of great leadership leave due to work environment and low pay. Bottom line performance is overly complicated - I've never seen so many metrics in any other company. Simplify the business end.

    Pros

%40 discount on merchandise with %50 off every now and then. Great way to gain experience. You always are busy and time passes quickly.

    Cons

Low pay for the amount of work being performed. Schedule is constantly changing and you usually are asked to stay late (almost every shift).

    Pros

This was my first job, I learned my essentials about retail from this company. How to sell and how to deal with customers.

    Cons

There was no room for growth all I wanted to do within the company was get promoted and no one was able to help me achieve this goal. I was ambitious and made it clear about what my career path was. I worked for this company for 4 1/2 years until I could no longer take it anymore.

    Advice to Management

Grow your people. Management was lazy, selfish and did not take the time to care other than push selling. Stressing sales employees about sales goals is not a way to make goals happen. Now a manager at Nordstroms it was a blessing in disguise that this company did not promote me.
