I have been working at Guess? part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working in a friendly environment and getting to meet new people everyday. As well as providing exceptional customer service experience.

    Cons

They don't really offer their employees much for what is asked of them and getting vacation approved is a hassle.

    Advice to Management

Offer a little more pay to employees. Especially if they are from within.

I have been working at Guess? as an intern

    Pros

They really invest a lot in their internship program and it's a great learning experience! A lot of interns get hired as full time employees as well.

    Cons

Nothing at the moment. Some departments have different expectations than others. So you'll have to see whether or not you fit in with the culture at your department rather than the overall company.

    Advice to Management

Maybe plan more fun event and create relationships among employees!

I worked at Guess? part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved the fashion-forward vibe of the store. I loved dressing up on the weekends, and I loved the clothing discounts (of course). As in almost any retail job, having the inside scoop on sale items was awesome. Guess has good sales overall, and I loved being able to get awesome pieces before anyone else could.

    Cons

So much favoritism! It was the reason I ultimately quit. My store was very cliquey. The “preferred” associates would get more praise for their accomplishments, more hours, and preference on time requested off. On one occasion, I won a sales competition and beat the runner up by doubling her sales, and I never got the prize. When the favorites would win, they’d get their picture taken, it would be posted all over the bulletin board, etc. Also, I love dressing up, but the managers would make comments about my appearance when I didn’t dress as girly as the other girls. It made me uncomfortable.

    Advice to Management

Favoritism is absolutely unfair. The company is a lot of fun to work at, but please make sure that your store managers don’t take all of the fun out of being a Guess girl.
