Current Employee – been working at Guess? full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Pay is very good and benefits are good as well. Merchandise is very nice.
Cons – Bad managers, too many direction, too much change, never happy with your work the minute you stop kissing up to them
Advice to Senior Management – Open your eyes and know who your key managers and employees are. this company has so much potential but yet so horrible with their DM's
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Guess? full-time for more than a year
Pros – very good colleagues, nice people, less politics as compared to other local apparel companies in the Philippines
Cons – low salary! as in very low salary. after 2 years of working, my friend got an increase of 700 pesos only (buyer position). no training! too much cost cutting! Also, employees are required to wear Guess tops and bottoms only. They will provide you 2 pairs of pants evry 3-6 months but they are the rejected ones. You are not allowed to enter the gate if you to bring your company ID and worst if you are wearing 1inch heel!
Advice to Senior Management – review salary structure of your employees!

Current Employee – been working at Guess? part-time for less than a year
Pros – Flexible hours and they offer a pretty good discount. It didn't take long to get hired and they hire just about anybody even if you don't have experience in retail.
Cons – The pay is very low and there is no clear path in growing in the company. There is a lot of pressure for such basic entry level job in the company.
Advice to Senior Management – Spend more time on training.

Former Employee – worked at Guess? full-time
Pros – None that I can think of
Cons – Make you clock in and out even if you are salary employee so they can track how long you work. Enforced break times. Almost like a prison. Not a fun environment.

Former Employee – worked at Guess? full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – If you are fresh out of school looking to start your career this is a great spring board, but don't stay too long. Great benefits, annual holiday party, onsite cafe. My time here was great, but I lived in fear for my job. It wasn't until after I left I realized that not all companies are like Guess. Be very cautious going in.
Cons – Beware of the bi-yearly layoffs! No raises or bonuses this past year. The organization is very parallel. Not much opportunity for job growth. Don't be late by a minute or you will risk being fired by the founder. He leads through fear.
Advice to Senior Management – Until Paul, the founder, steps down there is no hope for being a thriving company it was back in the day.

Former Employee – worked at Guess? full-time for more than a year
Pros – There are no PROS to this company.
Cons – The company is made up of a bunch of two faced, uneducated managers who get promoted based off of a popularity contest. You will never be recognized for your hard work and accomplishment but only put down for everything bad or good. The district managers are under educated and will find anyway to fire associates and managers based on their own word. They fire people for "not being what the company is looking for anymore" yet when they terminate them out of the system they put the reasoning as misconduct. This happened to a friend of mine working there as well. I was lucky enough to realize how unorganized, childish, and judgemental the company was and left on my own. I would NEVER recommend working for this company. On top of this, they do not follow any written rules unless they are caught... then you will be penalized when a higher up specifically instructed you to use your own judgement. Guess has lostALOT of AMAZING managers due to their childish and inconsistant ways.
The CEO and Directors are GREATpeople but they dont get to see the stores in their reality or their district managers and the stores in their natural state because its all a show for them. The stores are lacking constructional work, operational work, loss prevention teams and basic business fundamentals. Its not all about Money, maybe you should train employees to treat customers with respect as they are the ones funding your company.
Advice to Senior Management – Grow up and get an education, it is not a highschool cheerleading squad... It is a career for yourself and other managers amongst you.

Former Employee – worked at Guess? part-time for less than a year
Pros – 40% discount
Contests to see who can rake in the most money
Cons – Horrible management
Only cares about pushing products on customers
Made you feel horrible if you didn't shove clothes at customers
Advice to Senior Management – You can't keep employees because you treat them like money making machines and not people.

Former Employee – worked at Guess? part-time for less than a year
Pros – Not much to like about guess...coworkers are nice, we all got along pretty well. Some managers are ok.
Cons – discount sucks, managers promote competition between co-workers...this makes for a shady work environment because people end up stealing sales from eachother. Some managers even steal employee sales and force employees to help them generate their own sales. There is no commission...employees are just punished for not making individual goals.
Advice to Senior Management – Stick to a storewide sales rather than individual goals.
