I have been working at Guidance Software full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Highly employee centric (R&D department) environment. Preference leans towards happy work life. Time off policies are commensurate with the industry. Fairly flexible work hours.

    Cons

Company with much greatness ahead, but is currently working through the growing pains associated with previous success in a highly competitive industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to focus on the end user first. This has always been the mantra a highly successful companies that build cutting edge products. The open-minded culture of process improvement should also continue (this has been a great evolution lately) - do not rest of the laurels of the improvements made thus far.

I have been working at Guidance Software full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I work with a bunch of smart people, there was at one time a strong female presence, but now we are left with dopey women that make all women look bad.

    Cons

I have worked here for nearly 5 years and have seen women and minorities just fall to the side. Now, the last female executive just left, it's back to being the boys club.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Notice the strong women at guidance and promote from within!! This is looking more and more like a white boy club. It's unfortunate that the new executive team can't see that women have value. VP of PS will be missed.

One of the worst companies I have ever worked. Glad I left before I was laid off as mini lay offs are very common.

I have been working at Guidance Software full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I'm a new hire, and had a really good on-boarding experience. My laptop, name plate, etc. were ready to go. My manager had training set up for the week with my peers on my new job responsibilities. I'm used to being thrown in and just start working from my prior experiences. Cool employee cafeteria, reasonably priced and employer subsidized food. For breakfast, lunch and coffee, I spend less than $10. Fun Happy Hours, and upcoming Halloween Event.

    Cons

Organization works in silos too often. Need to work on improving communication across the organization. Stock price isn't great, but lots of stuff in the news currently that should help this market.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Communicate more.

I have been working at Guidance Software full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Their ability to meet payroll (you will get paid while you work here. Your pay check will arrive on time.
        - Free water and coffee everyday
        - Free parking

    Cons

    - Toxic work environment (in several teams).
        - Too much red tape for a small company
        - Radical restructuring and layoffs
        - Several Unqualified people in leadership/managerial positions. The company is run by former attorneys and police officers who don't know how to run a technology company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You are doing a pretty good job in screwing up the company and its people. If your goal is to run the company to the ground, then you are on track and doing hell of a job.
