I have been working at GulfMark Offshore

    Pros

Most all vessel are new less than 10 years old. A lot of new vessel being built. State of the art equipment.

    Cons

No new vessel being built for the US market. Not the highest or even close as for pay compaired to other boat company around. Alot of the vessel are new but not the right for the new deep water masket in the Gulf of Mexico.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pasted time to start back builting new bigger vessel for the deep water market in the Gulf of Mexico. Good to hear about the up coming stretching of the 190 class vessel. Hope to hear about some of the 210 class vessel being stretched next. The stretching will help some but new larger vessels will go better with making GulfMark strong in the US market and aroung the globe markets.

I have been working at GulfMark Offshore full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Laid back (for the most part), new equipment, decent support from shore, relatively flexible for scheduling (although getting less flexible) 1 paid holiday (Christmas), good coworkers

    Cons

No travel pay, lower than average pay, limited advancement opportunities with equipment in Gulf of Mexico, incompetent office staffing, 2 year commitment if they pay for schooling/upgrading, quality of employee has been degraded after extreme turnover in last 2 years, no in house training, no interview/hiring screening

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trim the fat and pay the people doing the work, get bigger/more diverse fleet

I worked at GulfMark Offshore full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They will take on guys with no industry experiance and give them a start. The safety culture is pretty good.

    Cons

Salary is absolutely terrible compared to others in the same industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The reason you can't attract European AHTS crew is the salaries you pay are miniscule.

    No opinion of CEO
