I was an intern that worked in process improvements. I was primarily an industrial engineer.

I worked at Gulfstream Aerospace as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Most of the people you find at Gulfstream are team players. Especially as an intern it is great having someone that is there helping you out from the start. There training is great and they offer more training depending in your area. It's a great company if you are working full-time and want to get your Masters. They will help you pay for it and they offer courses that would be through Embry-Riddle. Great company all together, I hope I have another to opportunity to work for them.

    Cons

I think there could be more consistency with the quality (end result of the plane) of the work on the floor. I don't know what they need to do as a company to make sure that their employees are manufacturing their planes to Gulfstream standards, but I think there is room for improvement.

Very strong conservative company, if that's your thing.

I have been working at Gulfstream Aerospace full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Many opportunities to promote from within. Great health benefits. Everyone knows everyone else.

    Cons

If you don't work at HQ it is sometimes tough to get promotions. There are a lot of work silos which brings workplace politics with it. Sometimes too conservative with employees. Technology is still lagging 10 years behind. Offices very often are crowded and don't have windows.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend some more money on creating an office environment that they would actually want to spend their weeks in, not cubicles that are overflowing with people.

    I worked at Gulfstream Aerospace

    Pros

The internship program in the financial reporting department was great. It provides exposure to many different areas. I learned a lot from all my fellow employees. Even as an intern I had the ability to pick my own work schedule within reason. I was able to work half days on Fridays which is a huge plus.

    Cons

The only con was the commute after work. There are thousands of employees that get off work at the same time so the roads and highways get very congested after work.

I worked at Gulfstream Aerospace as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    Great competitive salary
    Friendly environment
    Minimal supervision

    Cons

As an intern, I felt like I wasn't taught or challenged enough. It was a great place to get my foot in the door to the professional world, but I would've liked more work. This can be a pro though since you get good pay for little work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Check in with your interns more.

I have been working at Gulfstream Aerospace

    Pros

Interesting product, mix of techies and manufacturers.

    Cons

Some application team members resist outside consulting best practices, but this hardly differentiates them from many (most) IT divisions.

I worked at Gulfstream Aerospace as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Great hours. Great pay. Great benefits. Awesome people. I worked there in high school. I was a part of their youth apprenticeship program. I loved every minute of it.

    Cons

Hard to get rehired. My internship was complete & couldn't get rehired. I've tried every Thursday since my internship was complete to get rehired and nothing has happened. Not even an interview.
