Lots of opportunities for improvement, great people to work with that are extremely intelligent, great benefits, creativity, and much more

    Cons

Some of the people have a terrible disposition, but are allowed to keep their position...

    Pros

Great Salary and Benefits, can move up in the company if you are motivated. Pays to have a Bachelors degree. I would definitely recommend other aviation personnel to work here.

    Cons

The good ol boy system is still in affect. The company will open up internal Job opportunities where there is only the person they want in that position qualified.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, the pay and benefits are good for now. Going to a new insurance is good for single employees but I going to burden thos with families and who need to use the doctor more.

  3. Not quite the juggernaut of an OEM like Boeing so opportunities for advancement or lateral moves are a little easier.

    Pros

As a stress engineer, have the ability to work on various structural components instead being relegated to a single part.

    Cons

Little bit of a "good ole boy" mentality here but it's improving.

    Pros

Flexible company at the forefront of aircraft design. Flexible for the employee, and able to grow into or develop new roles with the start-up programs.

    Cons

Located in the very small Savannah, GA

    Advice to Management

Promote to levels of competence, do not promote just for the sake of promotion.

    Pros

    Gives you a paycheck everyweek

    Cons

Micro managed to the highest degree.
Poor Communication between employees and managers
Exploitative tactics used on contract employees such as refusing to make them permanent employees unless they work insane and awkward shifts and hours.
Absolutely no room for advancement...Good ole boy system at its finest.
    Poor and pathetic company culture.

    Advice to Management

Nuke the place and start from scratch. Morale is at an all time low and we need some help and reassurance.

    Pros

Good product Some of the leads and managers are great Most direct employees are more than willing to help out

    Cons

Cut contractors hours after bringing them onboard Paperwork is unlike anything I have ever seen in my 20 plus years in this business

    Pros

To be involved in the making of such an excellent product
Gulfstream offers great pay and benefits
Savannah is a small town and Gulfstream benefits/discounts are offered everywhere
The hourly employees (the foundation of this company) are AWESOME!

    Cons

Culture is not work life balance
    Archaic technology
    Hypocrisy at the highest levels
Complete disrespect toward hourly employees evidenced by the absolute worst time keeping system ever...and they know its bad but forces it on employees anyway
NO FLEXIBILITY, although they will sell you differently
Corruption at Director level with constant jockeying of position and personal agendas
Undercurrent of fear because if you don't drink the kool aid, you will be shown the door
Stuck in a time warp...in a bad way

    Advice to Management

Good employees with good performance should be rewarded. If an employee is severely unhappy, someone should ask why and research what they are saying. Building a culture of being a great place to work is collaborative and not dictatorial. There is good reason for processes and procedures, but some are severely outdated, and it is very frustrating when Leadership Team does not follow such rules and procedures. Lead by example. Directors (across many business units) are there to advance their own personal agendas, not Gulfstream. This behavior is abysmal and kills morale. Invest in a new time keeping system! Clean house of redundancies and dead weight.
