I have been working at H&M part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    high energy
better pay for part-timers going to school than most retailers in my area

    Cons

we had at least 8 different managers (including store managers) in one year
the pay did not equal the work load
    scheduling varies per week

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I constantly had to debate with management about Colorado law in order to allow my colleagues lunches and breaks. You need better training or a better screening process for hiring management. I quit because one manager approved my request off for my final in my last year of college. Then he was fired and another store manager came in and denied it.

I worked at H&M part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Ok payment to sart. Usually above the regular 8 dollars most retailers wanna pay to people with no experience. Discount and promos foe employees

    Cons

They make you work like a machine. Running non stop. Micro management! They are bossy and rude if you are not one of their favorites. Stupid co workers trying to start a cat fight over nothing. Usually the ones like that are loosers with miserable life. Long shifts!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Grow the F up! That is why none of the manager are there now, because they are inmature and act like they own the store and the brand forgetting that they are employees as well even though now they are managers

A great place to work if you're willing to put 100% of yourself into the job, go that extra mile and take initiatives.

I have been working at H&M full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There is extensive training, good pay compared to other retail companies, serious ability to advance (every week they feature a new member of H&M who shares their story of how they moved up in the company), fun staff, paid vacation and paid sick days even for part time staff, a lot of opportunities for paid travel if you're a valuable full timer.

    Cons

The staff is spread incredibly thin. Expectations often outweigh your resources, which creates a highly stressful environment at times.
