I worked at H&M part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great Pay, Discounts, Room For Opportunities & Growth.

    Cons

Working For a Union Store Meant Having To Go About Business Needs. Being a Part-Time Employee & a College Student Meant Nothing Because Business Needs Came First. I Could Have a School Schedule & They Would Still Give Me Days I'm In School & Then Write You Up Because No One Was Able To Take The Shift Which Lead You To Call Out. Favoritism Was Key. Store Management Were Very Lazy & M.I.A. During The Stores Rush.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop Being Lazy, Focus On The Needs Of Your Employees, Talk To Your Employees As Mature, Educated Adults Instead Of Being Disrespectful, Be More Organized With Plans.

I have been working at H&M part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good starting pay for a clothing retail store, with possibility of bonuses every month.
There is a lot of opportunity to advance or relocate but it definitely depends on how supportive your management team is and how much they care.

    Cons

Hours can be cut dramatically depending on how your store is performing sales-wise. This is mainly a huge con for part timers. Full time employees are guaranteed 32 hours. PTs are not guaranteed any in bad circumstances.
There is a lot of favoritism and hypocrisy that can take place. Management likes to say it is up to us as far as how our development goes, but if they don't care it simply will not happen.

I worked at H&M part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The family atmosphere, first dibs on cool clothes, the 25% was awesome! We would get free food when we met goal.

    Cons

The long hours. The 1-10 shift is the devil lol. Sometimes we didn't have a store manager but when we did they were super strict and didn't make work easy. Also I think we should have had a 5 min grace period before we clock in. Because sometimes the managers could do it but the regular sales advisors couldn't. And they will doc you for being 1 min late. If they want to. It depends on the sup that day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the attendance policy or make a grace period. That's Why H&M turnover rate is so high because on attendance.

I have been working at H&M part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

H&M pay is more than reasonable for what it is. H&M more than a job, it seemed like a family. They value every single one of their employees and they want you to succeed with them. You get many opportunities to grow with them. Most store managers started as part time sales advisors. How crazy is that?

    Cons

Customers can sometimes be very demanding of you and it may be overwhelming when trying to accomplish one of the many fun tasks management has assigned for you.

    Pros

Many opportunities are available, and you get to meet a variety of people with vibrant personalities. Also: employee discounts!

    Cons

Not AS flexible a schedule as I needed, and I had to miss out on a lot of things in university that could have benefited me. I had to put work first - have to pay the bills somehow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please, be more flexible with scheduling!
