I have been working at H&R Block part-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Tax law is fascinatingly difficult and constantly changing, so the job is never boring. My office is a great place to work because the staff and the clientele are (almost) all good people. Block offers unlimited continuing education for only $20 a year, or free for Enrolled Agents.

    Cons

The starting pay is way, way too low for the amount of knowledge required to even get hired. It takes a lot of time and work to get to a decent pay level. It's sad that a new hire could make the same wage to work at Taco Bell or Walmart.
