Pros
Employee has Freedom to manage his / her time. Fairly enough projects they have to work on. somewhat good policies for employee then others.
Cons
Remuneration side we can think it is not a best pay master in the market. It is big organization so you need to show your calibre to get highlighted .
Advice to Senior Management
Right now I am not in the position to say some good or bad words about the senior management team
Pros
Good perks and benefits other than the salary, decent onsite opportunities depending on the team you work with, fair amount of recognition
Cons
Lack of transparency in few areas, little career growth and little movement across different teams and areas, biased in a few areas
Advice to Senior Management
Try to percolate the executive management thoughts properly and effectively through the middle management and subsequently to all the employees
Pros
- Reasonable work
- Not much to worry about lay off
Cons
- Salary is comparatively less
- Treatment of employees must improve to retain
Advice to Senior Management
- Treatment of employees must improve to retain
Pros
It provides scope to grow, and not confined to just one role and responsibility. Encourages career growth, nice work-life balance.
Cons
Not everywhere, but there is lot of favoritism. Unless you are someone's favorite, it's very difficult to grow and get noticed.
Advice to Senior Management
Employee first concept of Vineet is amazing. But did HCL ever try to find out if the employees really believe that HCL goes Employee First?
Pros
1) Good onsite opportunities
2) Good opportunities for a fresher
Cons
1) Not meritocratic
2) Managers are all 'yes-men', give-in to all client requests without considering the feasibility of such requests.
Advice to Senior Management
HCL is one of the oldest Indian IT companies around, however it still isn't making progress it should.
Pros
- Big Brand Name
- Big ocean in terms of learning if you get an opportunity
- Easy work life balance
- Flexible timings
- Some great people at C Level
Cons
- Lethargic culture
- You have to constantly think good for yourself. No support from your RM. The reason is because he/she is also facing the same situation.
- People stay here for enjoying life. Some real A******s are sticking here for more than 5 years. They are good for nothing and are scared of not getting a job outside after spending so much time here.
- You eventually spend more time on bench than on projects throughout the year. And you can still manage to continue.
- Not a good company for people who are constantly looking for challenging opportunities. Sadly you will not get them here.
Advice to Senior Management
- My Nayyar please look into middle management. They are really spoiling the hard work you guys are doing at the top.
Pros
Timing flexibility, some good medical benefits for you and your family.
Cons
Very beaurocratic - as you dont have admin rights on your own machine, gotto take permission for even for downloading some zip files.
Dirty politics to get promoted and regionalism
HR people are nothing but full of fresh college grad management trainees, which HCL hires to get cheaper resources and they who doesn't know anything but to jot down mails, handles people very immaturely
Advice to Senior Management
Get updated your self to latest technology trends.
Dont follow ostrich philosophy and putting rules, regulation and constraint one cannot produce productivity within employees.
Employee First Policy is rubbish and just a marketing strategy to promote HCL brand the other way
Pros
I got a campus selection at HCL , so I had no choice and as a fresher you are happy to get a job in MNC
Cons
You might face the issue of being unsatisfied and not getting as per your talent. I actually faced this issue
Advice to Senior Management
Give equal opportunites and be fair in your appraisal process. The promotions were more on the favouritism rather than work done
Pros
Visibility and transparacy is there in HCL
Cons
Low pay master, Low pace but good the see that still making profit
Advice to Senior Management
Periodic Imcrements are required to meet this influation
Pros
Meritocracy - Fair Environment, Transparent Feedback Mechanisms.
Responsibility - Higher responsibility to people willing to stretch themselves to get to the next level.
Empowerment - Employee First is really about Empowering the interface with the customer... Amazing shift from companies which are focused on top down decision making.
Growth - with some businesses in the company growing @ 15% - 20% CQGR, growth opportunities for any person willing to work hard for additional responsiblity and career growth is great.
Cons
If you are a person who needs to be constantly supervised and told what you need to do, this is not a company for you.
If your focus is not career development, instead, you are looking for some quick wins in salary... you are probably better off with companies who make salary their only differentiator.
Advice to Senior Management
Develop a stronger Middle Management.
