I have been working at HCL Technologies full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Cant think of much. Don't work here.

    Cons

in my experience, it was strange for me to have to earn my time off. As an executive level person I would have figured it would have been up front. There is such a huge language barrier. People here seem to want to please their egos instead of doing the work that is needed. Management is so stuck in India. They're afraid to make their HCL locations in the US match the culture. They have a total lack of communication and leadership is only looking out for themselves and not the company as a whole

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership needs to be put in place that understands the US market, the US customers, and the US employees. They don't understand that at all. Management needs to learn how to communicate well. They need to overcome the cultural and language barrier that exists.

I worked at HCL Technologies as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

    Good for experience, fun enviroment

    Cons

The most challenging part about this job was the fast paced environment, especially during release season where the work load was tripled at times with the same 8 hour deadlines.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Every aspect of this company is controlled by India. On-sight HR, IT, and support are no help at all. there is room for improvement there.

I worked at HCL Technologies full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Easy to find entry level job. Easy process of interview. Some of the people in management are honest and straightforward. Respect for talent. Easy to slack without being caught.

    Cons

Hard to find competent engineers to learn from. The company as a whole does not have enough employees who are competent. Low pay or salary. Overly complicated security process that's almost as hard as TSA. No allocated office space while working on site at Microsoft buildings. IT staff reluctant to cooperate or give hardware. Lack of good management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To keep good and competent people, the company needs to try harder to satisfy them. Either by giving them higher pay or jobs that are challenging and interesting to them.

Since Microsoft has strict offsite facility rules, it does not mean HCL America needs to tolerate them. HCL American needs to negotiate better project pay rates with Microsoft to keep up with the security burdens.

Some of the managers are aware of skillful engineers but they tend to promote people who are Indians or close to the managers. There is no hard evidence to prove such favor or discrimination but it's quite obvious. If there is any hard evidence, works there will complain to EEOC.
