    Pros

HCL is good company with vast Infrastructure background and has a strong leadership team.

    Cons

At the same time, the work culture needs some maturity as we claim as one of the leading IT giant

    Advice to Management

Need some focus on the middle management areas and to work on improving the work life balance.

    Pros

Not much pros I could see in this company. It hasn't got a single SAP project in last 8 months. All senior employees left the company

    Cons

Poor management,Haven't got a single Project in last 8 months.

    Pros

Broad range of capabilities, delivery focused, customer focused, positive can do attitude of most staff

    Cons

Complex matrix organization, central hierarchical leadership structure not agile enough for global reach and size of the organization,

    Advice to Management

With recent rapid growth, the levels of authority and responsibility should be reviewed to determine if local or regional leadership can be more empowered

    Pros

Flexible, Home Working, limited traveling, and a good bonus system, company is doing very well financially.

    Cons

Very Indian Centric, Very hard to integrate into Indian based teams when outside of India, each client delivery is very independent and not enough sharing of processes and knowledge.

    Pros

Good working benefits based on par with similar organisations. 25days annual leave, Life Insurance up to 4 times your salary, Free annual season ticket loan, child care voucher, Free annual eye test etc.

    Cons

Starting salary is very low compared to other organisation in similar field....£16,000 and only pay statutory redundancy. Working environment has become very unbearable as the company is going through a face. Most of its work has been offshored for cheap labour, and 4 peoples job is now being managed by 1 person. It's more like a sweat shop now with no good career prospect.

    Advice to Management

Treat people with dignity and create better incentives for employees. Return all offshored work back to the UK.

  10. Don't appreciate higher cost staff below account level: high volume of cheap consultants. Very poor career development.

    Pros

Pay roughly follows or above average, occasionally attracting high quality (short term at least). Solid and varied pipeline of work. Sometimes consideration of avoiding travel (especially to avoid expense claims).

    Cons

Unless you play politics you area a number, thrown into whatever role comes up first, regardless of skill-set or career progression. Bonus pot decreasing. Cheap on development, hotels, everything (to point of counter-productive). Email clogged with internal marketing - even about someone senior's Wife's art collection! What?

    Advice to Management

If that's your strategy, good luck to you. But it's a path to 'also-ran' status at the low margin/high volume end of the market (with Wipro, TCS etc.) not like IBM or the brighter independents.

    Pros

    - Good Money. - Compared to other Indian companies HCL provides usually more flexibility for customer demands. - Strong financial situation.

    Cons

Similar to other Indian companies HCL is a winner of the Outsourcing Hype. The business is a volume business, the company culture is extremely policy driven (which is necessary in a volume business). Service Quality, customer satisfaction, smart solutions and long term focus is not really important as long as the outsourcing demand is high. Very strong marketing that does not reflect the reality in delivery quality and employee culture.

    Advice to Management

Less wishful thinking, more reality checks.
