I have been working at HCL Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

HCL is good company with vast Infrastructure background and has a strong leadership team.

    Cons

At the same time, the work culture needs some maturity as we claim as one of the leading IT giant

    Advice to Management

Need some focus on the middle management areas and to work on improving the work life balance.

I have been working at HCL Technologies full-time

    Pros

Flexible, Home Working, limited traveling, and a good bonus system, company is doing very well financially.

    Cons

Very Indian Centric, Very hard to integrate into Indian based teams when outside of India, each client delivery is very independent and not enough sharing of processes and knowledge.

I worked at HCL Technologies full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good working benefits based on par with similar organisations. 25days annual leave, Life Insurance up to 4 times your salary, Free annual season ticket loan, child care voucher, Free annual eye test etc.

    Cons

Starting salary is very low compared to other organisation in similar field....£16,000 and only pay statutory redundancy. Working environment has become very unbearable as the company is going through a face. Most of its work has been offshored for cheap labour, and 4 peoples job is now being managed by 1 person. It's more like a sweat shop now with no good career prospect.

    Advice to Management

Treat people with dignity and create better incentives for employees. Return all offshored work back to the UK.

I have been working at HCL Technologies (More than a year)

    Pros

-You have a real effect on what is happening in the company, IF you take initiative publicly -You have great freedom, IF you carve it out for yourself by force -You can move ahead fast, IF you are Indian

    Cons

-You have to be Indian to be recognized (with very rare exceptions) -Chaotic processes that do not work, you have to find your own way or you won't survive -Zero work-life balance, no respect for your private time -Nobody cares about local processes or laws, only when something is burning -A culture of everything is done last second means you'll work through the night many times on something that could've been done weeks ago -A culture of zero ownership for mistakes, so they will be repeated again and again

    Advice to Management

-Don't just talk about going local -Don't look down on non-Indians -A percentage point of margin loss may be worth it to have happier employees in the long run (eg. not working people through the night repeatedly may not drive away good people who have a choice) -You're putting all eggs in one basket regarding innovation and that one basket is failing, meaning you'll have serious problems in a few years if you don't step up
