    Pros

    Cons

Some management are hostile to work for and demean you, set you up to take the fall for them. Promise opportunities that never come.

    Pros

Great benefits. Great experience if you land in the right department.

    Cons

Very poor management in many cases - very territorial - not willing to work across departments without "whats in it for me" politics. Management are promoted based on favoritism and 'promoted out of the way', not on merit

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Weed out the management that treats their staff like doormats - very tough task, considering that's probably most of management.

    Pros

When its time to leave everyone is happy!

    Cons

Poor management, supervisors, Do not care about their employees, just get the job done, with limited resources we have. Pay is below what other HCSC make. Raises are like .10 to .30 cents, They have a bonus that gets handed out in March or April, Bonuses could be better for non-management workers. It's sad that people are happier walking out the door everyday. If you like being back in high school don't work here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a clue about your hard working non-management workers busting their butts everyday for your company!

I have been working at HCSC

    Pros

Work life balance was fine good benefits and understanding managers. Job tends to be repetitive in nature but happy to be part of a large organization.

    Cons

Company values need to be more focused on the customer. Perks were better before the healthcare reform act.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider promoting people based upon ability rather than seniority

I have been working at HCSC full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Just like everywhere else people have their gripes, I have been here for 8 years and have enjoyed my time. There was a point in my career where it was hard to grow and move to another position, some of it was politics, some of it was not knowing the right person. I have found my niche and enjoy it very much now. There is a lot of attention given to work life balance here. Many departments allow telecommuters, and individuals to work from home at least twice a week.

    Cons

Sometimes, your skills go unnoticed. It's easy to forget how talented you are if you get stuck in the wrong position here. Due to our private non-public statues were not alway efficient on how we spend. But overall great place to work.
