    I worked at HCSC full-time

    Pros

    Liked my clients and IT people. The work was challenging and I was given a lot of latitude by my clients including getting involved during the planning of the next budgets with analytics.

    Cons

    My management was not supportive and had their own agenda which they wanted to force on my clients even though it was not in their best interest.

    Pros

    Great work life balance and the ability to work from home.

    Cons

    There are several grossly competent employees, that has worked for this company for over 10 years and they are resistant to change.

    Advice to Management

    Promote and hire individuals who are qualified and not who plays the political game best.

    Stable organization, great benefits and great middle management.

    Older technologies, nepotism and favoritism make a very political environment difficult to get promoted.

    Decent compensation and benefits; flexible work-from-home policy. Management treats you with respect and does not micro-manage. Trusts you as a professional and allows you to do your job.

    Pros

    Plenty of opportunity to make a difference in people's lives and your own. Overall there is a great culture fostered at HCSC.

    Cons

    Companies this size seem to become sluggish. Innovation takes a while, and creativity can sometimes be traded for productivity.

    Advice to Management

    The phrase "work smarter not harder" should be embraced. Often times what looks good in short term gains via long hours and harder work just ends up being long term losses with an unhappy work force and attrition.

    Pros

    Benefits and the people, Community involvement, excellent technology, great support, diverse and inclusive. As long as you bring your "A" game and be the best you can be its a great company

    Quality checks, lack of available PTO days for a dept

    Know the work you expect us to do. Be consistent and follow through with plans.

    Pros

    Good benefits (Medical/vision/dental/401k with company match), good hours, wonderful co-workers.

    Cons

    Lack proper training with an over-reliance on computer based, automated training or droning webex meetings over human trainer interaction with employees. Unreasonable expectations for production and quality (both due to lack of training).

    Advice to Management

    You need to refocus on proper training, like the company was 2-3 years ago. The lapse in training is hurting every department!!
