    I worked at HDR Architecture

    Pros

Among the best reasons to work HDR Architecture are the competitive salaries, very friendly and fun co-workers, opportuntities to receive training in the latest softwares and working on mega projects. The company is also employee owned giving one the option to buy stock every year.

    Cons

Among the downsides are rather biased promotions and recognition, limited involvement in decision making and limitation in the project types that you could be assigned to work on. Creativity in design is also very limited with a few people exercising total control on what can or cannot be done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The advice I would offer the management is to loosen up and relinquish the strict control over every aspect of the business. Individual larger branch offices should be given more autonomy and individuals in each office should be given the opportunity to grow and advance in directions of their choosing without any bias.

I have been working at HDR Architecture full-time

    Pros

Overall the company is great. They do a lot of cross office work so you do get to work with people across the country, and they do make it easy to transfer between offices.

    Cons

Alexandria office is poorly run, and doesn't believe in growth of employees or retention of talented individuals. They are very stuck in their old ways, and aren't open to knew ideas and new trends.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
