I have been working at HEI full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Since being hired two years ago, I have gone from part time to full time, earned benefits, and the opportunity is increasing. The perks are two fold since they are managers, we are offered management perks AND perks of the brand

    Cons

Some of the challenges about working at my location is the supervisors may take suggestions for improvement but there are many hoops to jump through before implementation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please allow regular opportunities for communication of new policies ang logistics

I worked at HEI full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to turn the company around from loosing money to being in the black and earning positive revenue.. I had a great working relationship with all my senior management peers and subordinates.

    Cons

The executive staff and the bank were not willing to wait long enough for the improvements to take hold. In one more month the facility would have been in the black.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Don't give up.

I have been working at HEI full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The hotel is great! It's busy mid-week and has a lot of functions on the weekends. The hotel sells itself. A lot of industry around and also 10 hotels on the same street. Great place to work but I worked for a great GM who is no longer there.

    Cons

People come and go so it's hard when there is turnover at the front desk. Meals are free and it's right off the highway so it's easy to get to.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to listen to the employees. They are involved in the everyday operations and know what the real story is.

I worked at HEI full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The people were very nice. Great opportunity to learn about a Medical Device company. The company offered a decent pay wage.

    Cons

To many responsibilities for one person. Need more qualified people to do the salary work. People were let go every 3 months. Favored employees can display negative energy. Not a stable place to work for and no opportunities for growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest with the employees and don't display hope if nothing changes. Don't take for granted the hard working Manufacturing team. They are the employees who make HEI.

    I worked at HEI

    Pros

Advancement opportunites are the number one reason for working for HEI. There are many areas one can expand one's experience into as long as you display the drive and motivation to doing so. Management is open to ideas on innovation and streamlining especially from those in the 'trenches'. Employee morale is really good to use an old cliche it really is a family like atmosphere and as such there is always a lot of support when you need it. It is not only a job it is actually a life style. With HEI you will travel to parts of the USA you didn't even know existed and you will grow as a result of these unique experiences.

    Cons

"Not working is not an option" ever....direct quote from management. The job is time intensive and you must be always ready to go, go, go. I suppose that to be fair it is the nature of the work to be in continous motion but at times it can really be overwhelming. As a result of this there really is not much of a balance in terms of work/life issues. You can only take time off in the most extreme of circumstances and even then it is often clear that you create a vaccum with your absence and others must pick up the slack. The compensation is decent and fair but compared to other companies in the same buisness it is not particularly lucrative.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More time off is needed by the field employees, it is easy to burn out.

I worked at HEI full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

There are some really good people to work with.

    Cons

There are some really bad people to work for and they haven't given raises in 5 or more years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to treat your employees with respect for what they do to keep you employed.
