    Pros

HGST is like my your personal playground for those passionate about making an impact. There is so much opportunity to get involved and drive change. The executive team is getting better year over year driving organizational health and creating alignment / clarity across the organization.

    Cons

There tends to be a percentage of the organization that is resistant to the exciting change we are going through as an organization. Get on the bus, people! We are going to great places.

    Pros

Hands on experience with company's day to day activities. Friendly staff who are willing to help out and lend a hand. Good pay.

    Cons

Training new hires could be improved by providing with better learning material. It should be noted that the new hires usually get hands on experience right away which expedites the learning process anyway.

It is difficult to maintain a work /life balance and the company offers little to no recognition for one’s hard work.

I have been working at HGST full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great people and oganizational values. Benefits are average however they do provide a wonderful crossfit program for free.

    Cons

Growth within the organization is difficult. An individual will be given a lot of responsibility however little to no recognition for the positive outcome. An employee has to have a true desire for self-motivation because the management team will continually burden the strong employees and offer little to no recognition for the hard work. Without self-motivation it may be difficult to feel appreciated and to continue to perform at ones peak.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide positive feedback in addition to criticisms on a regular basis. Recognize individuals among their peers often and know that these little gestures of appreciation are often more valuable than any other behind the scenes award.
