Current Employee – been working at HGST full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – From a business perspective, they have very good people, transparent management style, and have a strategy, not just tactics. From a benefits perspective, San Jose employees have access to free on-site CrossFit classes, good cafeteria (but a little expensive), and decent bonus plan when the company hits its targets.
Cons – long-time employees overlooked for advancement opportunities,
Advice to Senior Management – new blood is great, but don't overlook recognizing your long-time work horses.

Current Employee – been working at HGST full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Good work environment, excellent people, good drive to be the best
Cons – Small growth in regular compensation and growing dependence on bonuses. Also, company is becoming too invested on reusing or making marginal improvements to old technology in current products at the expense of developing new technologies to face future challenges and ensure long term growth
Advice to Senior Management – Watch the future, keep an eye on emerging challenger technologies

Current Employee – been working at HGST full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – 1) Due to more than 2/3 and almost dev sites and mfg sites were ex-IBM SSD (Hitachi acquired IBM SSD's HDD business since 2003), basically it still has IBM culture, one of keys is to respect individual. As long as you can contribute, no matter where you come from, you will be respected.
2) Multi-cutures and harmony working environment.
Cons – Sometimes commonality not so satsifactory due to two dev sites although majority of the items are commonized.
Advice to Senior Management – More efforts on HDD robustness in design to maintain the Quality leadership.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
