I have been working at HISNA full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The company does many new and different technologies. Good place to get some skills and knowledge. The health benefits are awesome and the employees overall are good people.

    Cons

The Korean Management are indifferent to American staff, they do not respect the staff but tolerate them. The management is like being in a blind obedience position. Do not suggest new ideas - that would be arguing. The salary increases are less than 3%, they feel working for Hyundai is payment enough. Korean American staff have more opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No advice, they will not listen or read this information. They are above the staff here in the USA, only listen to corporate Korea. Racially biased company.

Worst Company you can possibly work for!

I have been working at HISNA full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The people on the teams are very professional and hard working. They have to be because 14 Hour work days are typical. The company has grown significantly in the past four years but they have not grown the teams. In essence they expect you to do the work of 3 1/2 people. A 65 hour work week is typical and continuous. If you have family, friends, and a life outside the company this is not for you. Hyundai has the Asian attitude that when they hire you, they own you and you belong to them. There was even a death on one of the teams on-site in 2013!

    Cons

Upper management does not listen to the teams or employees. You are simply another piece of meat with a computer and expected to work 20 hrs. a day. Don't bother going to HR for advice either. They will simply put your question on the record and hold it against you on a future date! There is no career advancement as well. Do not expect to do good work and be promoted. They do not promote and will simply put more work on your desk to be completed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have no advice for management, because they don't listen. Even if you show them how improve and be more efficient they are not interested. They are reactive to situations when they occur, but not proactive if you make a proposal six months prior to avoid situations!

I have been working at HISNA full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good interpersonal relationships, middle management, and peers. Inter-department communication is getting better. Medical benefits are great.

    Cons

Upper management seems detached. There is no real promotional path defined, so some deserving employees get passed up. Too much influence from Korean sister company diverts decisions away from company's published "core values".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider a management program and incentives for new ideas.

I have been working at HISNA full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Relaxing, nothing much to do but they will pay you some what okay. Bonus is about 10%. Good for those people who are not ambitious and do not care about growth.

    Cons

Managers won't care about employees rather working for themselves, they won't back you up for your requests like Promotions, pay adjustment or increase. Most of the managers don't know the technology they are managing so it's really difficult for them to understand the impact, issues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please try to understand/monitor the technology you are managing as well as care about employees and involve more in all the issues/projects. After all, employees are the one sweeping the floor and make you look good so it should be win-win for both. Please promote team culture and make sure everyone is having equal opportunities.

I have been working at HISNA full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Insurance plan for low cost. HR dept is good and responds on time. Pays on Time. 2 weeks vacation. Covered parking. New Office. Good Collegeus

    Cons

HISNA had typical Asian management far away from american way of life. New office in Fountain valley had open seating and higher visibility for mangers and directors. No work from home policy. Need to be in office by 8.00 am and only leave after 5pm if work permits. Asian management walk around the cubical's monitoring employee's. (Micro Management). Need to work on weekends when required and don't receive comp off or extra pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in upgrading the Software's to current versions. Grant employees at least one day in month to work from home. In-corporate american IT standard's. Make a rule that every one talks in English since the company is in America. Don't assign tasks after 5.00pm and let employees leave after 5 pm.

    Pros

Good colleagues, manager, very co-operative people. Not too much work pressure.

    Cons

HCA(Client for hisna or the big brother) doesnot treat HISNA well. Needs a clean and clear direction in this company. HR doesnot do a good job with GC processing. They screwed up couple of people's GC. Also please stop recurrent reorganisation.. we are fed up!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

See who is working and who is not. Promote people on time to avoid people leaving. Above all value people
