    Pros

    A lot of overtime available

    Cons

No room for advancement. Hire upper management from outside.

Make sure to give hardworking, career oriented employees get the opportunity to scale up in to management within the company. Not always hire from the outside.

    Pros

Great overtime for some extra cash and great to place to get some experience.

    Cons

Horrible place to work, bad communication with other shifts employees and management. Shows alot of favoritism putting people in a position which they dont qualify or have the skills or experience in. No career opportunity you might get lucky maybe.

    Advice to Management

Stop down graded people infront of everyone and talk to that individual 1 on 1 and if someone messes up call a meeting into preventing the problem.

I have been working at HITCO (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You will learn if they like you. State of the art equipment

    Cons

Too many managers and supervisors that won't engage or are not knowledgable. Very hard to find when you need information. There is probably nepotism. These people don't last long but the damage has neen done. Upper management make horrible decision and since they don't know how to run production, they always hire advisors. This has resulted in hundreds of thousands of wasted money.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to lead. Try to comunicate with your people. Get rid of bad apples in supervision. Make them accountable

I worked at HITCO full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits stemming from SGL being the parent company. Lot' of long-term employees who bring good continuity to the organization. Lot's of opportunities for young professionals to get good experience and take on additional responsibility early in their career..

    Cons

Revolving door of employees. Aggressive, finger-pointing culture when things don't go well. Company is bogged down with underbidding contracts with miniscule margins. Parent company (SGL) is more than willing to interject their burdensome layers of processes and advisers into HITCO when they have no experience in aerospace. (The result is they have driven HITCO into the ground). Forced SAP implementation crippled HITCO and likely overran by millions. One of the high level Sales employees is a curmudgeon who is tremendously rude and is full of inappropriate comments that likely keeps the HR management up at night. Its a shame this individual is one of the faces of HITCO.

    Advice to Management

SGL has succeeded in driving HITCO into the ground and now they need to sell HITCO to Boeing or Lockheed Martin for pennies on the dollar to give HITCO a chance to thrive.

    Pros

Aerospace manufacturer with a great potential.

    Cons

There is next to no communication from the executive branch to middle management, much less to the hourly employees. Upper management is disconnected from the actual working processes and spends far too much time making decisions based without solid knowledge. This equates with failure.

    Advice to Management

Step in to the 21st century, interact with the working processes, spend far less time playing politics. This is not the federal government. It isn't the 1970s either. Sad, since there is so much potential for success.

I worked at HITCO full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

they paid well, they have too bc no one wants to work at .... HITCO.

    Cons

It all comes down to cost. some genius hired a couple kids from college and put them in charge of bidding on projects. Their theory was bid low, get the work in the door and that will open doors to bigger and better things. well, they bid low, got the work and kept doing that over and over again. The bigger and better thing finally showed up but the company was so pregnant with failing programs that it didn't matter how well they did on the new big deal. In the end the company failed, the parent investor (SGL) has pulled out and the company is up for sale. we knew this was coming. How can you stay afloat when you spend 10K to build a simple part, and sell it for 4K. yeah sure, you can go to Boeing and sue them for more money per unit but you always settle for pennies on the dollar and don't end up any closer to the actual costs. cafe in 2011 was horrid. I once found rat hair in my french fries. HITCO had, in 2011, could still be there, a man in Sales that was so offensive and disrespectful I had never understood why a man like that (wish to not name names) could remain employed. I heard him insult my good friend because he is Bulgarian, and yes it was as simple as that. This same person would demand special treatment from the cafe staff, leave his food sitting on the table and expect them to pick up after him. It is very difficult to put in words how I remember this man from only 5-6 years ago. but if you are reading this review, and you have worked with HITCO or for HITCO you know who I am talking about.

    Advice to Management

Why did you blame the employees for having to sell the company!! really!!? they do what you tell them to do and simply give you their advice when you ask for it. The success of a company is a reflection of the success of their leadership. You are put in powerful positions to make important decisions. Obviously you failed.

    Pros

There's not much to it. Get to work on time. Clock in. Work. And get paid. This work place is a great way to start to learn skills that will help you out in more desirable job positions for different companies.

    Cons

Difficulty with hours, It's hard to balance your social life with this job. Management is horrible, Being heard in this work place requires some determination. Extremely strict but if you have discipline then it shouldn't be that much of a problem. Competitive work place.

    Listen to your employees.
