    Pros

This company values and recognizes its employees. Top management are incredibly smart.

    Cons

Still adjusting to change from steady enrollment to ACA-based cycle results in more right-sizing than in the past.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the forward-thinking vision.

I have been working at HPS

    Pros

Pay was ok. The work shift was nice.

    Cons

Management try to hold a conversation with you while you are on the phone with members. They will add ovetime to your schedule at anytime. They will make working Saturday and Sunday mandatory with or without your consent. Leadership team keep there head up management butt and get as much knowledge as a chewed up fruit loop. While you on the phone they pass around the same bagals they served weeks ago. There is no guarantee we will have a job next open enrollment.

I worked at HPS full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, good work from home policy, coworkers care about one another, decent pay

    Cons

Disorganized, no real priorities set, clueless help desk, very high turnover, often called off hours to fix things, not enough money in IT budget

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat employees better, more money for IT, less off hours work, better health plans, company values need work since people are overworked

I have been working at HPS full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Pay is ok... Team-mates are great... so are some of the supervisors

    Cons

QA is nit-picky if you are from another part of the country and you have an accent they will knock points off for the way you annunciate a word... I don't think they have ever been on the call floor taking customer calls ... Supervisors have favorites they give special projects to... Poor work ethics .. doesn't care about the customers.. will add mandatory overtime same day and not able to get out of it even if family out of state are visiting... 1 10 minute break and 1 15 minute break and a 30 minute lunch where is the other 5 minutes of the first break.. poor ergonomics .. there isn't any...no keyboard tray.. desk sits to high extremely uncomfortable... programs don't work half the time.. each department has a different program and the systems do not talk to one another... so emails have o be sent to have everything updated..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

get better equipment, and office furniture... better pay...better software programs... regulate the temperatures ...

OK - If you like working long hours with little respect, no raises, bonus, or training, and poor quality of life..

I worked at HPS full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Salary a bit above average if you hire into a position that HPS badly needs; no room for negotiation after in the door. Nice Building, Friendly Staff and Co-Workers.

Management is friendly when they need something; however will throw you under bus and back over you in an instant to save their jobs.

While "Fast Paced" its Chaos in Motion, not Evolution. Plan on finding another IT Position in less than a year... It drives your mobility...

Supports IT Burn-Out rapidly.. Get to use your medical...

    Cons

Lack of Quality of Life, Due to Very Long work hours, these hours are due to a specific "Gun-for-Hire" C-level manager who burns through employees and bodies driving projects from hell. COO who does not really understand today's IT concepts; he's stuck in the early 1980's and still thinks he's technical; almost appears he has memory issues.... Asks same questions 3 or 4 different ways to get same answer??? Sure he's really just playing mind games - NO TRUST... Very Bad Vibes.

There is a questionable use of situational ethics by HPS Managers, this flows from the CIO down; actually heard CIO discussing it was easier to push people out door and replace them, than to give raises; in IT your a disposable asset. They will use you and throw you under the bus to save their positions.

Significant lack of PMO project controls, poor organization of key projects, very little documentation on prior projects, few real "Run Books", all IT operations are by seat-of-pants approach.. Everything is a urgent issue and not enough staff to do correctly - everything is rigged to fail; not a company in transition; just clearly the IT Operations Group(s) are just poorly managed; treated as a unwanted cost not the life of the business.

Benefits are shaky even if established in writing with employment offer; No Training was provided as agreed to withing 6 months; needed to keep certificates in place... Management did provide the agreed to raises promised at 6 months upon hire, 3 weeks of vacation committed to was forgotten..

No Bonus Plan.. At least in prior role as Consultant there was a real bonus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Might want to fix the Management issues before HPS looses entire IT knowledge pool.

Quality of Life for IT Staff SUCKS -- Staff Up the IT Groups before its too late. If employees need to work 60+ hr weeks the management should be working same hours....

Fix the Career Path and HR Issues. There are real issues from CIO / Sr VP level down with view of technical staff as disposable rather then a asset to develop..

Sr. Managers should not be flying home every weekend on company money, and living in hotels in Tampa; waste of $$$, some have been doing this for long periods of time with consent from executive team. Wasting big Money.. 100K+ year per person. That spent the raises and bonus plan $$.....

Fix the Career Path and HR Issues. There are real issues from CIO / Sr VP level down with view of technical staff as disposable rather then a asset to develop..

    Pros

People is friendly the paid is not the best but is not bad either

    Cons

Training last 3 weeks but they don't explain the call scenario that you will have on the floor, the structure of the training is not the best they said that everybody can move forward but some of the Trainers began as Trainers or QA how come

I have been working at HPS full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Great ways to step up in the company, great team leaders, and benefits. Love the welcoming environment.
Good staff and friendly people. Management is kind. Benefits are good.

    Cons

Dress code a little more relaxed than business casual. Management was a bit difficult to deal with, as they did not always seem as knowledgeable as they should have been.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some managers are great to work with too much outsourcing of work to India.

I have been working at HPS full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Opportunity - the company is growing quickly and expanding and moving from a small to a mid-size organization. The business has doubled in the past year and expectations are that it will double again in the next two years.

    Cons

Demands - with rapid growth comes high demands on talent. Long days and many weekends focused on achieving enterprise goals is the norm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote from within even to Sr mgt position. Compensation for new hires is good but need to improve compensation for longevity employees.

I have been working at HPS full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Good location, Flexible hours - but these have a least value if any one want to work.

    Cons

This company has more directors, VP and Sr. VP than any other team.
I don't know how these guys are still in the business. Worst management of resources.
Every team has bunch of resources with less work...
    Frequent lay offs.
No difference between employee and contractor.
They let employees go on the same day with out any notice.
    No growth
    Management never cares about you.
They hire the people then layoff them in few months and again they hire new. same thing continues through out the year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give some value to the employee. Do not depend on the contractors
