I worked at HSBC - HDPI full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Current Group CEO has taken lot of bold steps to streamline the bank ( remove bureaucracy, exit non-core areas etc and the culture though lots more need to be done.

Its a huge bank with lots of opportunities / international connectivity to move around if you are flexible.

You are given sufficient time to prove, though there are exceptions which exists everywhere

Good work life balance ( again........ exceptions will be there..)

    Cons

    - Bureaucracy ( though steps have been taken, its a huge bank and lots more needs to be done to remove unwanted layers/teams/ management)
     - Laid back culture in most departments of the bank
     - They are not good pay masters ( though there are few exceptions especially external hires).
     - Key talent has moved / opted out of service delivery over the years mainly due to poor leadership, low motivation, perks & growth opportunities

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Strong leadership is key to success and shaping the future of this organization.
