    Pros

Stable, peaceful environment. Core leave policy is great. Leadership is good. A lot of activities are planned to keep employee morale high.

    Cons

The work itself, however, is not at all challenging. Plus, there is little meritocracy. There is too much hierarchy, politics and inertia.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promotions should be fast-tracked for the deserving. Do not make it a government office!

Current Employee - Senior Specialist in Calcutta (India)

I have been working at HSBC - HDPI full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    1. Believes in work life Balance
    2. Salary comes before the end of the month
    3. Bonus is paid out in shot
    4. Has a good escalation system
    5. Normally follows tried and tested methods in the bigger functions / processes but does try to encourage out of the box thinking
    6. Comparatively good salary when comparing with Indian market

    Cons

    1. Follows the same method of out of the box thinking which is automation
    2. Does not trust home working. So inspite of having home arrangements is very hesitant to allow it. The same is NOT true for UK / USA / Latin America / Dubai
    3. In HDPI employees are treated slightly childishly hence there is a lot of singing & dancing competitions / floor decorations / no bags on the floor and no cell phones for many job roles and job grades.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Grow Up. If everyone is really equal then lets show it.
