Advice to Senior Management

Instill true leadership
Pros
Good people (generally) who are knowledgeable and cooperative. Great opportunities for job movement regionally and internationally. Good benefits package. Top tier bank worldwide, so good performance from a global perspective.
Cons
Too little emphasis on praising good work. Not enough career and performance management on an ongoing basis. Some "I'm only watching out for me" mentality present in senior management.
Advice to Senior Management
Ongoing performance management is preached but not evident. Pay attention to your immediate/direct reports and manage them proactively and positively. If they perform, recognize them and their contribution to your success.
Pros
Reputable bank where it is good to be found in my CV.
Cons
Internal departments challenges where there are red tapes around.
Pros
Sound advisory to both corporate and public sector clients. It has a strong footing in the Emerging markets business especially the BRIC economies and this is where the growth opportunities are given fiscal problems in US and Europe.
Cons
Compensation may not seem compatible with Wall Street firms but it is a safe employer for the long run. Definitely not a hire-and-fire firm.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep focused on Asia and the Emerging Markets but also in these distressed markets times, maybe should focus on gaining some market share in Americas by aggressive acquisitions.
Pros
Work ethics and values are one of the important aspect for everything we do in the orhanisation. Totaly performance driven culture and respects diversity in workplace with great emphasis on work life balance
Cons
Result driven and too many changes
Pros
Strategic focus. Advanced technology. Global organization. HSBC is a good place to learn and grow and provides high potential employees with global job opportunities.
Cons
Shrinking in the US. High level of layoffs. Environment changing into highly politicized with employees indulging in mud slinging. Biggest intriguers come out on top.
Advice to Senior Management
Take what you hear with a pinch of salt and identify your sincere loyal employees versus the one who are all talk and politics.
