    Pros

The people, the benefits, the diversification.

    Cons

Communication from HQ and inability and/or difficulty to implement change that would benefit the US sub without HQ approval due to cultural / value differences.

    Advice to Management

Changes have been made for the better, but still communication can improve.

    Pros

Open doors for everybody if need to ask questions or meet.
No finger pointing if the current answer does not meet the expectation.
People work as team to get results and it is ok to ask bosses if you do not know answer.
    Comfortable workplace.
    Fair pay for work done.

    Cons

No real cons to talk about. Training is what is being talked about now as company keeps improving

    Advice to Management

Keep changing for better. Keep having town halls to tell us what is going on.

    Pros

There is a culture of change moving away from status quo to accountability. The new facility is nice enough, especially compared to the NY location. The new senior management has grandiose plans, but they don't have very many points on the board to date.

    Cons

Still needs to find its identity, the new management is trying but the old ways are still very close, it is hard to break over. The HR staff is basically absentee, no communication, no training, no career path and no systems for even simple things like requesting a day off. If you need to replace an employee you end up doing almost all the process by yourself. There is very little incentive to perform at a high level as to date there is no formal performance review system. The bonus system is also very poorly implemented and communicated. In addition, the staff is 'encouraged" by the HR management to write positive reviews on this site, not very professional. The move from NY was a step in right direction but there are plenty of legacy team members who are NOT on board with change and are holding the company from growing.

    Advice to Management

Take a few minutes and get involved in the day to day operations, don't assume no news is good news. The town hall meetings are not enough to know the difficulties encountered. The 50,000 ft. view is not good enough. Set an example, attend a meeting and listen, you have staff who are experienced professionals. A monologue is not a way to build trust or respect.

    Pros

The beat thing I like about working there is that we work Mon-Thursday and off for the weekend

    Cons

Some of the challenges working there is that you have to be able to move at a certain speed to get your job done

    Advice to Management

To make sure you always to make quality not quantity

    Pros

There are a great group of employees to work with. Salary is comparable to market.

    Cons

Company moved there corporate offices to Wayne, NJ. We lost valuable employees. There were a couple of new hires in management role, which I don't understand how they join the company. One particular individual has no respect for his colleagues. Employee morale is low. There is no pontential for growth.

    Pros

Moved out of that roach infested location in NYC. A carbon copy of the Whirlpool way...,,but with the major difference being the inferior products, VP's and management who don't have a clue about what's going on. Service full of "buddies" and "pals". Look out if your not part of the "boys club".

    Cons

The audacity to "request" current employees to post favorable reviews in the hopes of changing potential employee perception! Shame on you! While several people who deserved to be let go prior to the move to Wayne was a good start, there is still a great deal of dead weight dragging this company many of those residing in China. Laundry is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Pull the plug on Haier America. Become a low cost, entry level OEM supplier of white goods to companies with a "brand".

    Pros

Haier America has injected a new culture of innovation. The new CEO Adrian Micu has brought to the company strategic leadership. The leadership team is excellent and has given this company a new vision, strategic direction, and works well together as a team to implement this strategy as one unit. The Organizational Excellence and Operational Excellence directions have energized the company to strive for excellence. There are so many great things happening at Haier America with regards to Products, Supply Chain, Customer Facing, and Consumer Service. The CEO has given the existing workers and new talent a great feeling of collaboration with consensus.

    Cons

The only CONS are the old, out of date, or ex-employee comments that are simply not the case anymore. The people of Haier America are now ENGAGED to make the leap to the next step of inspiring living, creating great products, and exceeding our consumer's expectations.

    Advice to Management

Continue to Leverage People, Process, & Technology to continue to improve on exceeding customer/consumer expectations. Rely on the talented people in the company to work hard to continue the outstanding progress being made.

Completely different company than before February 2014

    Pros

Company is sincerely looking for input and new ideas. The new CEO is more accessible than most, and has done a good job of piloting the changes. There is a huge opportunity to be a part of re-building the company from the ground up. If things go right, there should be a lot of opportunities for advancement for those who can prove themselves worthy. I agree with other reviewers that it is a lot like working for a start-up with the backing of a very large mother company.

    Cons

I would ignore most of the reviews of this company prior to February 2014, or by past employees who might have been bitter about the transition. It is not the same company that it was, and there were a lot of layoffs when we moved to Wayne, NJ. That said, a lot of things are changing quickly here. If you don't feel comfortable dealing with change and thinking on your feet, this might not be the best place for you. Also, many processes are still broken here. If you are used to a very structured environment and working in a very narrow silo, this place will be somewhat infuriating to you until things get sorted out.

    Advice to Management

Work on understanding and fixing the broken processes. All the new people are talented and great, and it really feels like the team is coming together. But trying to work with a series of processes that never worked right in the first place is going to burn people out and give them a bad experience.
