    Pros

Work was definitely a pleasure to go to. My co-workers were wonderful and we all got along famously. We had pot luck lunches, outings, and everyone genuinely looked out for one another.

    Cons

The pay at Halifax was not as competitive as Orlando, or even Altamonte Springs or Sanford. It is a State funded hospital, but I'm not sure if that is a good enough reason. The benefits at Halifax were also not as good as even the local cable company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your hands are tied when it comes to salary but more squeaky wheels will get greased.

    Pros

At Halifax Health you will learn and experience a plethora of patients and disease processes. Good team approach within departments.

    Cons

Low pay scale as compared to other healthcare settings in the community.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get competetive with the pay scale.

    Pros

There are so many great employees working here that go above and beyond. They are willing to help their fellow employees. I learned a great deal about healthcare operations.

    Cons

Nothing but a boys club. Very low employee morale. Hardest workers are not recognized for their hard work. There is so much money wasted that should be going to the employees.

    Pros

Largest hospital in east central fla

    Cons

Executives and Leadership are grossly overpaid.
    Poor Leadership
Several new VPs added in 2013 and 2014 with high salaries.
Multiple lawsuits against hospital for billing, admissions, wrongful terminations, non competitive bids, discrimination.
Staff nurses and allied health have reduced pay and benefits due to poor leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Time for change in all senior leadership. Time for the board to make changes for the tax payers.

    Pros

This company has interest in keeping people for the long haul. They will help you further your education and career. Every one complains about pay, but I feel I get paid well for what I do.

    Cons

Great team support but division between departments and areas.

    Pros

The employees are great. Thats it!

    Cons

Substandard practices that are cleaned up just prior to HIPAA, JCAHO, ACHA reviews. They no longer care about the patient but rather paying high end salaries for management. Wne they were recently sued the monies were made up by cutting employee benefits, cutting experienced employees, and cutting employee raises. When employees suffer the product suffers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

FIRE all upper management, and reorganize the business structure. Cornerstone is a JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Pros

The pay is excellent and so are the benefits.

    Cons

The Food is expensive and terrible. The maternity ward gets luxury meals (Steak, Chicken or shrimp) while the other patients gets the slop (meatloaf, fish, turkey) from the kitchen.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Everyone is equal. Stop feeding the new mothers and start feeding the patients!

Former Employee - Staff in Daytona Beach, FL

    Pros

The pay and benefits are excellent. There are numerous different healthcare disciplines represented and the capability exists for this to be one of the best hospitals in the southeastern United States. Patients are never turned away due to lack of money. There is a fair sense of teamwork among employees on the floor, sometimes due to being good people, sometimes due to banding together for common defense against the management.

    Cons

The management. Promotion and retention are obviously based not on competent performance but on who panders the best, thus the inept, the lazy, and the amoral receive preferential treatment. Their attitude toward employees is that is you disagree with us, go elsewhere, with no consideration that competent professionals who are not in management might have some valid ideas sometimes. The stated cultural objectives of the institution sound good to talk about but are very orwellian in their actual practice. Patients are accepted even if they are indigent but whether they receive equal care consideration from the management or not is open to discussion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The best thing the upper level management could do for patient care and employee morale in that institution is to resign as a group so they could be replaced by a new group of people who have some concept of the universe outside of themselves and a true interest in ethical, high-quality care.
