Pros
pay is good after 5 years of working your ass off
Cons
favortism is usual at this company
Advice to Senior Management
hire a new managment crew, it is the worse ever
Pros
The pay is better than McDonalds.
They pay for your CDL license.
Good work experience when looking for somewhere better.
Decent health plans.
Cons
Upper management could care less about their workers, we are replaceable.
It is 10.00 bucks an hour.
Extremely difficult to get a pay raise.
Even though you put in long hours, with little to no time at home, your paycheck is less that what it "should be" for the work.
They have special "exemptions" from the normal laws employers have to follow.
No holidays off, unless it is your normal scheduled day off. Even then you have a high risk of being forced to work, since those with seniority decide to conveniently "get sick" leaving you to do their work.
Advice to Senior Management
With a couple billion in profit every year, you could afford to pay better. There are SUPERVISORS who make less than 15 dollars an hour. You wonder why you have such a high turnover rate? Poor pay, and long work hours. Seems like a straight forward subject to me.
Pros
Salaries and benefits are in line with other companies, free parking, offices and facilities are nice, day care center onsite, two gyms, and several restaurants, banking, etc.
Cons
Many managers and supervisors are unqualified and are in their positions because of "who" they know, not "what" they know. HR department personnel were not trustworthy and do not really care about people. There were an absurd amount of "empty" offices on our floor...people were being "let go" daily.
Advice to Senior Management
Avoid secret back-door deals. Assess the skill levels of their managers - there was one who was hired by his friend (Senior Manager) who had never worked in the oil and gas industry - was a product of the military and not only was a poor manager, but looked for ways to avoid doing any real work of any kind.
Pros
Big company, very good training
Cons
The working is too demanding. 24/7
Advice to Senior Management
Be positive
Pros
Lots of opportunities for advancement
Cons
Must be a self driven individual to make the best of the experience
Pros
Halliburton works you hard, but the benefits are undeniable and the jobs are interesting and important to civilization's energy needs.
Cons
Halliburton is demanding and seeks people who are willing to travel and work long shifts.
Pros
Pros -
- work life balance
- excellent management team
- good training program
- flexible
- variety of challenges
Cons
Cons -
- Halliburton is not an industry leader in the pay provided to its employees
- technical knowledge sharing could be improved
Pros
decent benefits
thats pretty much it
Cons
poor comparative pay
long hours (24 hr call)
no bonus
overworked
no balance of life and work
no upward mobility
salary not representative of worth
poor education system and growth support
Advice to Senior Management
the employees make the company and should be treated well enough to be proud to work there.
Pros
There are some really bright folks at this place, who are real fun to work with. You learn a lot being associated with those teams. But at the same time, there are many teams which does mundane software development, with no innovation and creativity whatsoever.
Cons
Career growth is pretty flat in this company. If you are hardworking and looking to climb up the ladder, this probably is not the most conducive environment to do that
Pros
Excellent benefits and decent vehicle allowance.
Cons
Every other company in the industry has raised pay except Halliburton.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep salaries and bonus structure competitive.
