I worked at Halliburton as an intern for more than a year

All the perks of working at a large company - cafeteria, on-site gym, day care etc.
Good working environment - people are willing to help out

I have been working at Halliburton as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Halliburton SCMP is a great program that focuses on developing the leadership abilities of engineers. This is a fast-paced, intense program that produces some of the best leaders.

    Cons

It is almost required that over time is done to complete projects, but will be worth it after the 2.5 years of rotation. Work-life balance is not their top priority.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Benefits are good and promotions happen quickly to those who earn them.

I have been working at Halliburton as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Being in the HQ gave valuable access to different people and areas of business. This was especially useful as an intern. My manager was engaging and made our team feel connected.

    Cons

Depending on the team, it could be very hit or miss. I worked other teams and managers that did not have the same connectedness, and openly expressed their frustration. The company itself also gets some bad rap in the public, naturally, but working there was pleasant. And of course being so large, it can take weeks to get certain simple things done.

    I worked at Halliburton full-time

    Pros

Benefits, and cafeteria in campus, I guess.

    Cons

If you're not in a "high position" you have always high chances of getting laid off, everyone is a competition, cold environment filled with cubes, very political, no holiday bonuses or holiday parties, it takes years and years for management to approve a tiny promotion, senior management could care less about regular or mid-level employees
