    Advice to Management

Do not put foreigners from south America or Mexico in charge of PSL divisions. They are prejudice against all gringos whether you want to belive it or not.

    Pros

Fairly interesting work, opportunities to work anywhere in the world. Very good benefits. If new to the oilfield, it is an excellent place to learn.

    Cons

An extreme amount of bureaucracy. Promotion based on jumping through hoops, not quality of work. Management decisions comes from people thousands of miles away.

    Advice to Management

Let employees become more autonomous. Let people in the same district manage themselves. Be flexible

I worked at Halliburton full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, good training programs. Great way to see the world, or at least the parts with oil, and make a pretty decent check. Lots of opportunity to advance.

    Cons

Corporate office monkeys will sellout field staff to protect themselves, especially during a downturn. Pay is probably less than other service companies. Lots of micromanagers.

    Advice to Management

Let field hands do their jobs. Don't be so quick to throw other people under the bus. Promote from within more, rather than hiring from outside.

    I worked at Halliburton full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, nice campuses, unlimited sick days after a certain amount of months if you aren't in operations or the field.

    Cons

Simply put, Halliburton is a really unfair company. Miserable supervisors and managers work for despotic Directors. Operations staff on-site and in the field live under a completely different set of standards than profit centers and corporate HQ. Racist practices are in place to keep black and Latino workers lowest on the totem pole. Illicit relationships between managers and upper management. It's a mess. Some of the hardest working and most qualified people are kept down based on appearance and race.

    Advice to Management

None that they would listen to.

    Cons

Only Downside is the moving you might have to do to stay with the company.......But if you are in it for the long haul it is worth it.
