Dead end job unless you're the few at the top, give you fancy titles instead of raises.

    Maintenance Engineer (Former Employee)
    Raynham, MA

ProsNone of the jobs are physically or mentally hard.

ConsNo chance for advancement, poor pay, promised reviews / raises that never came through. Very boring. Good for newly graduated high schoolers

Advice to Senior ManagementInstead of handing out too many titles per department with little to no pay increases, review your pay scales and pay accordingly. Can't pay the bills with a job title. Too many chiefs and not enough indians at this place.

    Great but not for me

    Housekeeper (Former Employee)
    Mehlville, MO

ProsOne hour break broken up into two 15 min breaks and one 30 min break.
Snacks for sale at work haha.
Once in a while you'll get a 1 or 2 dollar tip, sometimes even more, but not often.
Benefits and discounts on certain hotels.

ConsIt was hard for me to have the correct uniform and they did not give me one of the new shirts.
It is labor, so if you can't push heavy carts or deal with strain on back then jobs not for you.
You get a list of rooms to clean, its really not easy to get them all done fast enough sometimes based on if people are still in their room, or have it dirtier than others, it really slows you down, so you don't know when you will be off work, its based off when your done with your list of rooms.

    Breakfast Attendant

    Breakfast Attendant (Former Employee)
    Alice, TX

ProsI loved to talk to the customers and get to know the regular people that stayed.

ConsI did not see any room for advancement. I did not like the negative atmosphere of negativity. The pay was horrible for the amount of work they expect from you.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive promotions when they are due. Better leadership and structure would have kept me there longer. Be more understanding about family emergencies.

Good place to work for what you need

    Night Auditor (Former Employee)
    Yardley, PA

ProsA lot of versatility in terms of position got apply for.

ConsVery likely to hit a roadblock in terms of progressing to a better position and not a lot of lead way in terms of making it to work in times of emergency. Regardless of the situation if you can't make it in its very frowned upon.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind better ways to accomadate employees in times of dire emergency.

Easy job, not much room for advancement

    Front Desk Agent (Former Employee)
    Pine Knoll Shores, NC

ProsThe employee discount is nice but I never used it. Good place to build experience in customer service.

ConsBad hours, low pay, dealing with customers is never fun and your job is customer service. Especially bad dealing with wedding parties as they tend to complain about EVERYTHING.

Fun job for those interested in hospitality

    Front Desk Agent (Former Employee)
    Memphis, TN

ProsWorking at Hampton Inn was a great experience. Prior to this job, I had no idea that I would love the hospitality field so much. You get to hone your customer service skills and have fun at the same time. There are extra perks such as team member discounts on Hilton brand hotels all over the world.

ConsBad hours if you work anything other than first shift. Low pay for front desk agent.

Advice to Senior ManagementStay connected with your employees. They have valuable input as they are the eyes and ears of your location.

    Great Hotel, okay pay.

Front Desk Clerk & Maintenance (Current Employee)
    Lawrence, KS

ProsTraining shows you everything for front desk on up. Culture varies from operator to operator. Cheap stays at all Hilton properties - this is the best perk across the board for every employee. It makes me want to go back when I'm retired to work just for that perk.

ConsPay is usually just above minimum.
    Customers can be seriously unreasonable.
For every great guest their is a person that is trying to get something free, abuse policies, or just plain rude.

Advice to Senior ManagementAnother perk or maybe higher pay for every Hilton branded hotel, I know there's a limit but there might be a way to squeeze out more.

ConsNone that I can think of . I like the company, staff, building... location
