I have been working at Hampton Inn part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

As others have stated, it's incredible to be able to stay at Hilton properties for cheap. Though it depends on who is in charge, management-wise, typically management is more than happy to provide opportunities for you to advance.

    Cons

The pay is mediocre at best. Unless you are a GM you'll be on hourly pay.

Former Employee - Housekeeper in Bowling Green, OH

I worked at Hampton Inn part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The hours are reasonable usually except for on Sundays. So many people check out this day and if someone calls off then you have to pickup the slack without assistance from management.

    Cons

Workplace drama. Staff were not encouraged to advance their knowledge, just work with your head down and don't question management. Tasks such as flipping mattresses with or without assistance was normal place and doing all this for minimum wage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow for growth of employees for a better workplace, encourage work staff and allow for recognition. These adjustments plus the allowance of a living wage, i.e. not minimum wage will go a long way in keeping employees on staff.
