I worked at Hampton Inn full-time

    Pros

Large company with plenty of relocation potential

    Cons

Franchise owners become "more of the same". By that, I mean that they live in their own bubble on how things run and lack empathy

    Pros

Being a Hilton product, the nearly infinite resources are at your disposal to ensure the success of your hotel.

    Cons

Sometimes you're faced with the stigma of what Hampton Inn used to be.

    Advice to Management

I would say that Hilton needs to continue innovating their properties, but perhaps in a different tempo so that every so often our guests are surprised by something new instead of a whole lot of new for a year and then the brand stays stagnant for 4-5 years.

I worked at Hampton Inn full-time

    Pros

Constantly meeting new people is great. The team member travel program is amazing! Really fun environment.

    Cons

Open 24 hours and somebody has to be there. Have to work almost every holiday. The pay is very low.

    Advice to Management

When people bring you a major problem it needs to be addressed, not pushed to the side because you like the other party.

I have been working at Hampton Inn full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company to work for as Hilton is always looking for ways to interact with employees at the hotel level. If you're part of a franchise it can be hard to move up. Benefits are great, especially travel perks. Computer system is better than most other competitors.

    Cons

Incredibly long hours are to be expected, especially in management. Pay can be pretty lousy as well. Home/Work life can be difficult at times.

I have been working at Hampton Inn full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I absolutely love my job more than anything. Yes- you get guest who make you want to rip your hair out and cry but for the most part it is the best job in the world. You get to meet people who have been everywhere and hear their stories

    Cons

    The "raises" aren't that great.

I worked at Hampton Inn part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Basically the breakfast host comes in before the breakfast area opens up, has to prepare all the food/coffee/fruits/juice etc and open up the breakfast area for the guests, and throughout the shift make sure theres enough food and drinks for every guest. Also make sure the area is clean and tidy. When breakfast is over, (I think it went from 6-11 or 12), you have to clean everything, we gave the extra food left over to the housekeeping girls or you could take some home if you wanted. Basic cleaning, making sure to turn certain things off, wipe down all the counters, sweep, mop, etc. Easy job, got free food and drinks, AWESOME discount on hotel rooms, good schedule, (Monday-Friday), got to meet guests from all over. Your shift is over by like 12:30, so you have the whole rest of the day free.

    Cons

Most breakfast host jobs for the Hampton inn are almost ALWAYS part-time, even though you're an hour or two away from being full-time. The pay was low, and you have to get up at 4am to be there at 5 to open up the breakfast area. Like every service job you have to deal with sometimes annoying guests.

    Advice to Management

Maybe pay more and give them a full time position.
