    Pros

I was given the morning shift since I was newly married. Family is important to the owner of that particular franchise.

    Cons

not much room for personal growth. Payment wasn't that competitive. No specified lunch/break times.

    Pros

It's a job. Can travel with employee discount but most hotels don't even want to give them and need manager approval.

    Cons

Being that its a franchise you can get really screwed over depending on which site you work at.

    I worked at Hampton Inn

    Pros

Flexible hours, great opportunity to gain some experience in hospitality, great training. I've yet to work for a company that is as focused on building brand loyalty into its own employees as Hampton brands. Hampton is a great place to start in hospitality because they're not normally full service hotels so you really just learn the basics and move up from there. Great company culture, I highly enjoyed getting to meet fellow Hampton employees.

    Cons

Advancement is limited within hotels since they are franchised. The hospitality industry in general is very under paid.

I worked at Hampton Inn full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Felt empowered to take care of customers and felt like management cared a great deal about customer experience. Was rarely second-guessed for doing something. Really enjoyed my coworkers. Worked for a franchise that I felt did a very good job of recognizing employees.

    Cons

Did not see any room for advancement. Atmosphere sometimes felt almost cloyingly positive. At this particular franchise, compensation was about average.
