I have been working at Handy as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

You usually receive pay in about two days unless it's the weekend. No deposits on sat/sun.
    You set your own hours.
You do not need to hunt up clients.

    Cons

Pay rates based on customer reviews designed to be biased against professionals. A 7 out of 10 is a bad score and could get you fired.
    No actual customer feedback.
Misinformation on platform regarding job locations.
No 1099 tax forms. All jobs need to be carefully documented.
Little to none interaction with office staff.
I've had several clients tell me they tipped through the company and have never received a dime. As well as telling clients not to tip.
Not getting notified of clients cancellation until being turned away or no one being home.
Not making it plain to clients what are considered extras. It's embarrassing to explain something is not included and ask them to call customer service to book it. Doing so usually only gets you a lower rating.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to reevaluate whats important in regards to the rating and pay systems. Every psychological professional I've contacted agrees that 9 out of 10 people will give a rating of 7 when happy, when asked to rate something on a scale of 1-10. It smacks of fraud, and clients should be informed that what they rate does affect their cleaners pay. Not what THEY will pay.

I have been working at Handy full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Easy pay, control of own schedule.

    Cons

Clients canceling without notifying you ahead of time, difficult parking situations with some clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find out about parking (so we need a parking pass, do we have to pay for parking, etc) before we come. I got an $100 ticket parking where a client told me to.

I worked at Handy full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Some really great co-workers.
    Free meals, snacks and drinks.
    Comprehensive health benefits package.

    Cons

Terrible division between CX and everyone else that naturally stems resentment.
Constantly shrinking paychecks with no explanation whatsoever.
    No real advancement opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Aim for a better office culture. The office is teeming with gossip and petty jealousies that permeate from the top-down. Also be much more transparent and accountable for company-wide decisions. These effect people's lives.

I worked at Handy as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

    flexible hours

    pay within 2 days

    Cons

They charge you 35 dollars if you cancel within 24 hours, no matter what the circumstance ex.(car battery being dead) but if a customer cancels or better yet isnt even home they want to pay you 15 bucks. get real

take money out of your pay without even letting you know

give customers unreal expectations... 1 cleaner to clean a dirty house in 3 hours, and except it to be spotless... i dont think so.

tell the customers that tip is included when it isnt..

after gas, products and the taxes you pay at the end of the year you basically make less then 10 an hour.

They cater more to the customer then the employee

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try and take more time to talk to your employees

    stop giving customers unreal expectations
