I worked at Hanger full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The company was really great, and I felt that if it was my chosen field that there would be a lot of chance for opportunity. However there is a lot of the old culture that is still very well embedded within the management team, this however makes it hard to do things. Well, I can't necessarily speak for all of the senior leadership in regards to this but my boss had this issue.

    Cons

MY particular department was lead by a boss who only worked well within a team of 1.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Doing well, just need to weed out the old blood.

I worked at Hanger full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Free coffee/pop
    Good social events
    Lots of friendly people

    Cons

Command and control style in IT
IT manager talks the talk but not walks the walk
Management is not concerned > 50% of team members left one development team
Don't value employees (especially individual contributor)
Most people in the IT department leave with in the first year.
There was also quite a bit of in fighting between the different IT groups and also within the same IT team
Don't be fool there is no open door policy, leadership team can't take the truth so don't dare to speak up

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find managers willing to stand up for their employees, and not just a YES man to the executives
Please don't keep manager who is simply good at passing the blame and the spin game
Vinit and CIO need to listen to what they are being told by HR and not what they are hearing from their direct reports (VP, director)

I have been working at Hanger full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - The minions, outside of the executive wing, are overall good to work with. This may be analogous to all the folks below deck on a slave ship pitching in together, but still...
    - The products and services sold do make a difference in the lives of many.

    Cons

    - Raises and bonuses are laughable, when they are awarded at all.
    - Like more than a few companies these days, the delta between the pay of the working stiffs and that of the executive elite is mind boggling.
    - Annual trip to Las Vegas for Ed Fair is held in a dump casino, and even then, the commoners are expected to share rooms with other co-workers. Cheap? That's one way to put it.
    - Finance area does astronomical amount of work, on a monthly and quarterly basis, due to archaic accounting systems and practices.
    - Leaders of company much more likely to listen to high priced consultants, instead of the folks actually doing the work. Office Space? Most definitely.
    - Lot of managers that have only worked for Hanger. Translation: Lot of managers that don't have a clue about business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your stock just dropped 25%, due to the second quarter in a row that earnings were missed. On top of that, two consecutive annual audit misses? I guess my advice would be to freshen up your resumes; the BOD is watching.

I worked at Hanger part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Invest in employers to keep up with the latest changes within the O&P healthcare market. Many workers invest enthusiastically in meeting the goals of aiding patients.

    Cons

Opportunities to increase in position and personal growth limited and can be transferred to other offices any time. Sometimes feels more about meeting the monthly quota than supplying proper needs for patients.

    Pros

Company had a noble cause but that seems to be about it. It's run like a small business.

    Cons

Poor management skills and communication. Hardly ever see or meet anyone outside of your office. Management doesn't care about you. Period. Poor ventilation in labs. Cheap harbor freight tools. Not looking to promote within.

Quit yelling and just talk like we are human.
