It's who you know not what you know that keeps you working here.

    Pros

Some good employees mostly backstabbers waiting to make themselves look good by capitalizing on others.

    Cons

If you are in good with Dr Freer then you don't need to worry about what you know or how you do your job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too many chiefs not enough Indians.
Unrealistic expectations from non workers. Again it's who you know that keeps your job not what you know.

This place is caught in a time-warp, and not the 21st Century good kind of time-warp.

    Pros

It was close to home for me. The drive was tolerable. Their benefits are pretty good for a small facility, with the exception of 401K contributions. You will not retire with any income if you don't contribute. They only match 1% of your income.

    Cons

Where do I begin? The management has not moved into the current century. There is very much an atmosphere of quid pro quo. Management is so concerned with maintaining their positions, that they do not advocate for their staff. Numbers, charts and graphs hold more value to management than do quality of patient care, adequate staffing, and patient safety. Staff is often floated to other departments where they have not been oriented. Often, nurses are asked to work in areas that are beyond their level of competency. For instance, a nurse who may not have ACLS is required to float into CCU or ED. A nurse who is not PALS certified works on the pediatric floor. Floor staff is extremely dissatisfied with their jobs. The incredible nurses and nursing staff keep the doors open. Period. However, they are burning out very quickly as the hospital relies upon people willing to pick up extra shifts.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This place is top-heavy in management. Stop worrying about how things look on paper, and start being invested in the people who work in the trenches. You have some amazing staff, and you are losing people weekly due to the perception that they are nothing more than warm bodies with a pulse. Open up more full time positions and stop relying on people to pick up overtime to cover staffing shortages.

    Pros

There are no good reasons to work there. Management is terrible, treatment of patient's is terrible, it's all about numbers and money.

    Cons

Management forever putting you down. It's all about money in their eyes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Change all of the management.

    Pros

Some co-workers are OK just watch your back!

    Cons

Upper managment came and went regularly as does the CEO. It's all about the MONEY to them not patient care. They charge interest on budget plans in these hard times! Must constantly watch your back.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to patients and workers below you instead of $.
