    Pros

Good training, flexible schedule. Coworkers were nice and easy to get along with.

    Cons

unrealistic expectations as far as workload goes. Expected to put in too many extra hours in order to handle assigned claims. You need to be part of the "right crowd" to be considered for advancement.

I worked at Hanover Insurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Plenty of parking and it has an onsite cafeteria. Having a hard time thinking of anything positive with this childish company.

    Cons

Almost too many to list. Human resources is a joke with heavy turnover. Long hours with understaffed areas. They pay horrible and discriminate against employees that aren't in the "drinking club". Completely unprofessional.

    Advice to Management

Compensate good employees and rid of the liars and unprofessional behavior. It's not college its a job. Senior management goes out drinking and comes to work hungover.

I worked at Hanover Insurance full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Some nice people, Pretty good benefits. Some opportunity to move around.

    Cons

Constantly changing directions, which is understandable. Priorities change, the market changes. But management was not clear about the changes--it was frustrating to find out the hard way that their appetite was changing, or that the reporting structure was shifting. Ok to change directions--just tell me clearly.

    Advice to Management

Be more direct. We can handle it. Rethink the use of off-shore facilities. Is it really saving money if you take into account correcting errors, customer complaints, and errors in policy that result in paid claims?

    Pros

Benefits from day 1.Family support days in addition to vacation and sick time.

    Cons

Too many resources to try to reference while on the phone.

    Advice to Management

Divide reps up by territory so each team can better serve their clientele.

I have been working at Hanover Insurance part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I am in college and this provides an incredible work-life balance for me! I am thankful for my boss' flexibility and her professional presence in my life.

    Cons

No cons from me. I would say that I hate not being able to work more than I do now. I wish I could work all day for them and make the big bucks.

    Pros

Good Benefits, Good people, good civic leader, gives back to the community

    Cons

Absolute culture of micromanagement. Rampant ageism. If you're over 30, forget it. Unless you're okay with showing up, doing the same thing year in and out with no shot at advancement , professional development or growth. They reserve that for the under 30 crowd.

    Advice to Management

Stop ignoring experienced workers in favor of the yes, driven, and yes, intelligent , albeit inexperienced younger workforce, and give some credit to the knowledge someone with more than a year out of college has to offer.
