Pros
Employees are great and support each other.
Cons
Management team is not supportive of employees.
Pros
Better than average health benefits at an affordable rate
Opportunities for casual dress days
Cons
The company has headed down hill in the past few years, making the culture of the environment highly negative.
All previous "perks" of the job have been taken away including- bonus eligibility, 401k match, flexible PTO
Discontent is obvious from senior level management on down.
Poor performers are rarely dealt with and strong performers are forced to suffer the consequences. There is little to no accountability on the management level.
Advice to Senior Management
Be open to listening to the opinions of professionals below management level. Value the talent you have, rather than compromising it for sub-parr performers that you can hire to save salary costs. Deal with hiring mistakes effectively before the problems get out of hand.
Pros
Harrahs pays better than most casino and offer a great benefit package, but it is only great if you follow strict guidelines of preventative healthscreening.
Cons
Customer service is now at all time low. Employees are spotlighted on performance way too often. Structured to the point of being robots not true service warriors.
Advice to Senior Management
Think back on how it began, great people giving great service, and service recognition.
Pros
The company name, the atmosphere,
Cons
Some shift managers are dictators who have no idea on how to run the department. They also treat employees horribly. They try to create a hostile work environment by causing anomosity between Supervisors' and hourly employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Become more consistent with the employees. Become more employee friendly!
Pros
I had some of the best fun ever dealing before Harrahs took over.
Good pay.
Benefits were good when I started.
Cons
Constant meetings.
Shift changes every 6 months.
You get threatened with firing for one less than perfect customer assessment.
Decreasing benefits.
Advice to Senior Management
Please quit the constant meetings.
Actually live up to your promises on benefits.
Can the extreme favoritism.
Let seniority matter.
Pros
They provide a reasonable paycheck and my work environment is good.
Cons
The company has lost all credablility with its employees and senior managment continues to believe that it can continue to keep rolling over its employees with its constant cutbacks. The fact that the company was forced to change its brand image from Harrah's Entertainment to Caesar's Entertainment says it all.
Advice to Senior Management
The employees are now paying for the excessive acquisitions of years past. The economy has given you a convienient out.
Pros
benefits customers free lunch eagerness to stay green
Cons
like any business there is internal politics which was very frustrating
Pros
It is a strong player in the Casino and Resort industry and you have a lot opportunities to learn there. Life is balanced and people are friendly in general.
Cons
More training to employees. And the communication can be better to inspire ideas, passion, etc. Hope to have more projects which can help Harrah's grow and the employees grow as well.
Advice to Senior Management
In general, management is doing a great job. But maybe the company needs a little more flexible so that it can meet the needs in a fast-paced market.
Pros
It looks great on your resume. They offer a fair benefits and healthcare program. There's also food provided during your shift.
Cons
Very high expectations. Will work alot of overtime and sometimes require you to even work on the weekends or holdiays.
Advice to Senior Management
The leadership at Harrahs's entertainment is well build. They held weekly meetings and give you updates through their website and mail.
Pros
Nice people in my department.
Cons
This is a company that pays big bucks to consultants. When the consultants give recommendations, the company doesn't heed the recommendations. Lots of wasted money-and every time you turn around they let more staff go. Every one is down to bare bones staff-stressed out-working 7 days a week and for what?
Advice to Senior Management
Keep jobs in the US and stop farming them out to other countries. You are so concerned with code green and saving the environment when you would get more respect with saving American jobs! Be a trend setter and keep jobs in America.
