I have been working at Harrah's Philadelphia full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

It's a great study in what not to be if you plan on becoming amanager or executive.

    Cons

Low salary, nepotism, unprofessional behavior amongst management in particular. Management positions awarded not by qualified experience, but rather favortism.
Past executives have been too hung over to come to work, spied on employees via social media, and even had arrest records. The GM has a reputation of being verbally abusive and demeaning to employees and executives alike. Directors in just about every department are not qualified to hold their positions. Many unemployment claims have been denied as well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Instead of throwing your employees under the bus, learn to drive it instead.

    Pros

Everyone you work with is always friendly, easy to work with, and eager to please the guest.

    Cons

Corporate is in control and are not familiar with the demographics of the area. Many changes that always leave employees on the back burner and loyalty is not admired.

I have been working at Harrah's Philadelphia part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

My schedule is flexible and most of the guests are great.

    Cons

There is no job security today you are the best tomorrow you are fired

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is not what you know it is who you know. Most of the supervisors suck. They change their rules daily and when your supervisor does like you anymore look out. The employee has no rights. There is no compromising it is her way or the highway.
