  1. Nice company to work for, limited opportunities for growth

    I worked at Harris Rothenberg

    Pros

It has a good familial feeling, due to its size. I felt that people genuinely cared about one another, which was nice.

    Cons

Because the company is on the small side, there is limited room for growth.

  2. Helpful (1)

Terrible work environment for a work/life company.

    Pros

Vacation accrued so over time you could have a generous leave policy.

    Cons

This company tried to pretend to be something it wasn't: an advertising agency. It over promised on the services it actually offered which was EAP benefits and as a result the call
Center staff was never equipped to do their jobs well. The company didn't subscribe to the benefit it was offering either: forget work/life balance. The owner was a misogynist, narcissistic money grubber who loved to psychoanalyze and listen to himself talk but rarely ever pursued actionable steps presented by employees to make the company better.

    Pros

They have PTO so you can take time as needed. Time off accumulates every month.
They have lots of celebrations so if you like cake this is your place!
The owners are pleasant and encourage a "family" atmosphere
A great company to gain experience in an office setting

    Cons

It takes 6 meetings just to get to another series of meetings before anything really gets done.
There is no such thing as overtime pay or bonuses
Pay is only 2 times per month
    Favoritism runs rampant.
Raises are very small. 2% is the maximum allowed

    Advice to Management

It takes far too many meetings to get projects finished and initiatives passed. Cakes and PTO are nice but try giving people a cost of living increase, its hard enough having only paydays per month.

Owners are underconfident in everyone else's abilities
Owners love to psychoanalyze employees and use their clinical skills as weapons to laud it over people.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

The only thing that I can really think of is the physical location of the office which is near the seaport.

    Cons

Senior management is clueless about how to run an organization effectively and keep their employees motivated which is ironic considering the services that they profess to deliver to their clients. It is a very stagnant working environment with little flexibility and no opportunity for growth and professional development.

    Advice to Management

Practice what you preach! Start doing staff surveys to find out what your employees really think about the organization.

    I worked at Harris Rothenberg

    Pros

Good place to work, nice people, good management. It was a good place to leverage your experience. Overall happy with the company.

    Cons

The salary wasn't that great and there wasn't too much for growth. The company promised more than they could offer.

    Advice to Management

Management should offer other employees to give their input more often. It would help improve the different departments and could bring a beneficial change.
