    Pros

Flexible hours, great pay, 10% discount on everything the store, good environment to be in, products are good, fresh food upholds great standards. Bonus checks and raise 1-2 a year.

Usually a younger crowd working in grocery stores - therefore some unreliable scheduling. Managers are constantly stressed and usually strict or seen as rude or mean. Sometimes policies would prevent you from doing your job properly.

I worked at Harris Teeter part-time

    Pros

If you're a student, you can easily go on educational leave and pick up hours when you need them. 401k matching.

    Cons

Front-end work is thankless, very repetitive, and you feel like you're under a microscope: customer service managers and customers nitpick about the minutia of your performance. (This is probably true of most grocery stores.) No employee discount, consistent but minimal raises. The uniform is awful.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate and promote your employees who work hard and show promise!

I worked at Harris Teeter part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked in my neighborhood so everyone knew and loved me. I enjoyed seeing everyone I knew and catching up with them. It was right up the road from me!

    Cons

Standing on your feet for long hours. Can't have piercings or tattoos showing.

    Advice to Management

Loosen up on piercing and tattoo regulations. That doesn't define someone's character.
