    Pros

    decent pay and benefits,
    VERY flexible hours,
    Bonus Checks twice a year.

    Cons

total hours in departments are kept low, but superior service is demanded over competing companies. hard to do when there are not enough people sometimes.

    Advice to Management

more people on the front end. stop expecting Homeshop to work harder than a cashier at the same pay. Its a very hectic position.

    Pros

Decent benefits. Modern and clean stores.

    Cons

Asked to work 12 hour shifts and only once a week. I've been told I can't leave until all the work is done, as if the manager will stand at the door and physically prevent me from leaving hours after the time I'm scheduled to leave.

    Advice to Management

It trickles from the top down. Dave, the DM for store 409 (as of Feb. 2015) said we cannot go home until everything is stocked because of an incoming snow storm. It is true we are supposed to get snow but it will be over 40 degrees tomorrow and customers won't be knocking down the door to buy products. This reasoning is for them not to miss a sale of something that didn't get stocked. Just another example of the guys at the top walking away with a few hundred thousand more and the guys at the bottom
are making their $9 an hour. I've also been scheduled 2 days a week when my availability is every day. I asked them why this is and they said it's because I don't come in on days that I'm not scheduled when they need help. How bass akwards is this?

    Pros

If you have patience and like people you will do ok. Benefits are so-so.

    Cons

Management doesn't get that people, especially longer term employees appreciate a regular work schedule.
Their checkout process, flow of people and systems are challenging.

    Advice to Management

Hire more FT people and treat them right. PT kids that come and go can choose availability times easier than FT people. Maybe Kroger and their union workers can share some of what works for them.
