    I have been working at Harry Meyering Center part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Very rewarding job and room for leadership positions. Non-profit organization, which is great. They genuinely care about the clients and try to meet the needs of their employees. Met some of the best people at this organization

    Cons

    Very high turn-over rate. Must have a car and very difficult to get time off over the holiday seasons-- seniority is key!

    Helping people who really need it!

    Very strenuous on the body and mind. Can take up a lot of your time!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Allow for employees to help schedule their workdays when part time. These kids have classes and stuff that come first.

    I worked at Harry Meyering Center

    Pros

    The clients are wonderful and a reason to stay at HMC. It is very rewarding work and you grow because of the work you do.

    Cons

    Management ignores concerns brought to them by their employees. Cases of neglect get swept under the rug so to keep up with the "image" of HMC. Employees are very cliquey, gossip frequently, and generally disrespect everyone. Pay is very low compared to other companies.

    Value the work your employees do. Listen to all concerns brought to you by employees.

    Pros

    Good college job, only every other weekend.

    Cons

    QMRP fires you for getting close and caring about your clients. You get written up for being friends with coworkers. Most houses only have 1 full time supervisor and 10 part time employees. Not enough hours to go around. No benefits at all, took PTO away because of budget cuts. Company is terrible at managing money. Willing to spend 100,000 to change a house to handicap accessible instead of moving him to a home already hc accessible with an opening.

    Don't work for this company.
