Pros
Big Desk , new phones, good location
Cons
Supervisors, OLD Computers, no growth
Advice to Senior Management
Get rid of all the old bags still around.
Pros
Good about flex time and work locations. Lot of talented people in the "do-er" ranks.
Cons
People are not enabled to thrive. Few internal promotions. Micro-management and appearance of an assumption that talent from the outside must be better than the inside. No company vision, very poor communication from Executives.
Advice to Senior Management
Come up with a roadmap to move the company forward. Learn from past mistakes and implement improvements. Constant change for change's sake is not an improvement.
Pros
As above. The best thing was the great individual talents. I loved the teams I worked for and with. The work itself was fascinating, involving and rewarding. It also gave us great contacts with thought leaders of the IT world.
Cons
In my opinion some managers were clueless and obsessed with cost-cutting. Shareholder value was the most important motivator, even above customer satisfaction.
Advice to Senior Management
You need to understand what a strategy is and get one. Low pricing is not a sustainable strategy, especially if you position the products as a premium. You're shafting customers, which would explain why your revenue has decreased by 30% almost every year for the last 10 years. You need to make your offer more relevant to modern marketing demands. You also need to train your people across silos so you can create and leverage a competitive advantage.
You have acquired the right companies, now integrate them with an 'integration' fund of say, $10m USD which would fund opportunity cost of HH entities working with each other so that everyones P&L look nice at the end of every month.
Pros
The pay is decent compared to other similar companies and duties.
Cons
I work for dishonest people.
Advice to Senior Management
Tell people what to really expect before hiring them.
Pros
some co-workers are friendly (some)
Cons
alot of OT for salaried employees, no support from management, favoritism runs wild, start caring for employees and turnover will decrease, families don't matter when busy season arises, all bosses head for the door and employees stay to work.
Advice to Senior Management
pizza for lunch doesn't solve problems, one raise in 5 years?, motivating people by cursing?, my kids can do better....
Pros
Challenging outsourced environment supporting multiple customers enables you to lear how fortune 100 companies execute marketing programs. Instead of just working at one, you get to participate in many.
Cons
Sometimes the pace is very fast. The deliverables for customers and the internal financial constraints have to be balanced on a daily basis.
Pros
Moderately competitive in salary, moderate health benefits packages. Good flexibility regarding paid time off. Goals and Objectives are clearly defined from management.
Cons
Oddly structured management hierarchy, Unbalanced workload equality, Days vary in work time, it is unknown when you will be able to leave most days due to the handling of work b management.
Advice to Senior Management
Create a more balanced way to distribute projects to assure a fair and balanced team. Be more active in promoting positive work environment.
Pros
Very relaxed environment, Casual Dress, Competitive Pay, Great Benefits, Thorough Training, Advancement Opportunities, Encouragement to maintain a Healthy Work/Life Balance
My husband passed and I had been off work for 2 years before coming to Harte-Hanks.. I appreciate the positive energy and smiles that I see everyday. The ongoing training is awesome. I've been doing Customer Service for over 10 years and Harte-Hanks is by far the most employee friendly
Cons
My personal opinion is that WE need to hire more mature associates. I like that WE give everybody a chance BUT some of the people are really childish and if allow yourself to fall into that type of thing you are doomed to FAIL..
Advice to Senior Management
I really like the environment and MOST people in my center take their jobs very seriously. I like sitting around people who take PRIDE in their work. You can hear the smiles in the agents voice and thats an awesome feeling. Knowing that you are NOT ALONE and that WE really are a TEAM is the best feeling ever!
Pros
My paychecks have never bounced. The "first line" leads and supervisor in my area are good, knowledgeable and appreciate the hard work they get from their people. Our overall team is basically a good group and help each other out and are supportive of one another.
Cons
Qualified, experienced and good employees get over-looked when there is a need for managers. Then when new managers/supervisors are hired from the outside, those who are overlooked are required to train the new boss! Rules and company "policies" are not applied to everyone equally; ethics is unknown to them, as we can do work for more than one account at a time, with both accounts getting billed for the total hours. Management people, a lot of them come across as snobs, do not even know the people that are on the floor and have no respect for the employees.
Advice to Senior Management
You put on a good show when an account comes to visit, acting as if there is ongoing employee recognition. Give us something to look forward to, i.e. promote from within, pay increases, rating systems that do not punish the individual for doing their job. Treat your people the way YOU would like to be treated. Integrity and sincerity could go a long way!
Pros
Great benefits and time off. If you are somewhat intelligent, you'll stand out to managers and be treated better than most.
Cons
The pay is a joke. Some reps working at HH for 6 months are making more than reps who have been there for 3 years. Raises are not performance based. Management treats employees like crap, mostly because employees don't care about their jobs and are very lazy.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in better employees.
