I have been working at Hartford Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

rn case manager home care - salary is good for home care, however that goes with a catch as with salary and your "productivity" your hours per week are somewhere between45-55 if you do a decent job as a nurse.

    Cons

quality of life, safety of patients. caseload 50 and beyond, nobody counts nobody cares. 1 start of care every day, 4 revisits (reverts, discharges). poor management, nobody listens. HIGH staff turnover. take this job if you're desperate only.

    Advice to Management

hire more nurses, you're dangerously understaffed

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Hartford Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Co workers were a great group of professionals, everyone pulled together to get the job done.

    Cons

No work / life balance, contradictory directives, very hierarchical form of management, over scheduling and over promising on projects and timelines.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the frontline workers and take seriously their feedback and concerns. They understand healthcare is an ever changing industry, but not being upfront about the challenges and how that may affect a persons job or how they can perform successfully creates and environment of fear and distrust which negatively effects the workplace.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Hartford Healthcare part-time

    Pros

Hartford Hospital has implemented a set of values that speaks to the care of their customers...the patients. This has improved the care and environment of the hospital over the past 8 years.

    Cons

Much change and growth as lead to a very depersonalized work environment for staff. HHC invests in its growth, not in their staff.

    Advice to Management

Do unto others... Just as there are core values for staff to follow to benefit the company, please consider implementing a set of core values for the company to follow when thinking of the needs of their staff.

    Pros

Challenging environment, opportunity for leadership if show interest, ok education and training, leadership trying to improve over time, coworkers mostly good to work with,

    Cons

sometimes don't have enough resources for projects, changing priorities are sometimes confusing, sometimes could have better work/life balance, need to provide more feedback,
